National Issues Allowed?

Filed under: Question — Ian at 10:49 pm on Monday, January 8, 2007

QuestionEric just posted about the minimum wage, but in an article solely about Washington DC. We need to decide on whether non-Keene related posts belong here.

On one hand, I don’t want the blog to be devoid of content, but on the other hand this blog is intended to highlight issues and solutions to government coercion - in the Keene area. I can certainly see extending the coverage to NH related issues, but I’m concerned about losing focus. Please post your comments. Should national issues be off limits unless they are tied into Keene?

In response to my own question, I do enjoy a good attack on the DC crowd.. so perhaps national posts are okay if only occasionally?

Though I think an effort should be made to tie the issue home to Keene or NH.

There are plenty of other places to post national issues. Ditto on “I think an effort should be made to tie the issue home to Keene or NH”.

I would like national issues to be talked about, but it would be nice to tie them into how they effect Keene. Will the minimum wage increase have any effect on people in Keene?

My two cents:

There are plenty of places to talk about national issues. Keep this area NH and Keene only. Thanks.

My opinion: National issues as they relate to Keene opting out of those issues.

I would suggest that you keep it focused. You’ll build a more loyal readership more quickly if you don’t stray too far from local issues.

The one article I did for Keene Free Press was a national issue with specific ties to Keene. It was rather different than the article on the same topic that I did for Homeland Stupidity.
