Neither is ever going to happen. Reformists, law enforcement, cities and states need to follow the lead set by the El Paso Council and resolve to "encourage the U.S. federal government to start a serious debate on the legalization of drugs". Our country as a whole needs to know how we benefited from the money we paid for Mr. Carroll's arrest, and why the logic that led to the repeal of the alcohol prohibition doesn't apply to the marijuana prohibition. And we need to ask ourselves if we're so shallow as to repeal a prohibition that created violent murders in our own country but not repeal one that created violent murders in a foreign country. He should know that those 40 people there to support Andrew would be there to support him if/when he decides he's done enough harm.
