Dave Ridley’s “Constructive Disobedience” at Keene District Court: March 3rd, 8AM

A letter from Dave Ridley to the Keene Sentinel:

On Nov. 14, authorities at Keene District Court ordered documentary videographer Tom Caruso to shut off his camera – and keep it off. They were just four minutes into a trial he drove four *hours* to film. No acceptable explanation was provided.

I know some of the court operatives and personally like them. But like them or not, they should not be able to draw a veil of secrecy around their public proceedings. You have a right to know what they’re doing with your money. You have a right to know how it looks.

In protest of their partial censorship, I’ve informed KDC authorities I will respectfully attempt to enter the courtroom around 8:00 a.m. on March 3. I’ll have a video camera, and I will *not* shut it off. Not without an acceptable reason. I’ll film the trial of Gandhi-emulating marijuana activist Andrew Carroll in an appropriate, comprehensive manner, or be arrested.

I think (hope?) Ridley understands that Carroll is not having a trial on March 3rd, just an arraignment.

Either way, I will be there for him.

A curious pattern emerges here. Whenever anyone in the the government wants to use video evidence AGAINST people, that’s well and good. It is for the children and just and righteous.

However, when any non-government person wants to use video evidence to document government abuses, then that is just beyond the pale: it is too crazy/silly/terroristic for words. In the government courtesan main stream media such a person is marginalized and made to look as insane as can be.

To summarize. The police-state can always use any technology AGAINST you. You may never use any technology (to include dirt, rocks, or sticks) to document government abuses or to protect yourself form the same.

If you people really don’t understand the difference between an arraigment and a trial, maybe you are so clue-less that you would actually be more in favor of the Court, if you actually knew what you’re talking about. I’m gonna throw all your sorry asses in prison, anyway, so bring your cameras. See if I care. NYAH-NYAH-NYAH. I’M THE JUDGE AROUND THESE PARTS! I’M THE DECIDER HERE, GODDAMMIT!

I killed a whole bunch of people, ruled a country for many years, and even after my death am still feared in the country I once owned.

And I’m scared of Judge Burke too. I’m dead and I’m still scared. I’m surprised old Burke hasn’t been to my temple and screamed at me to sit up when he’s talking to me.

this guy makes me look like Bob Hope.
