Thanx for leaving. Andy has left NH and I say we’re better off without his pessimism poisoning the well. As apolitical as I am, even I had to give kudos to the political activists for recent victories. And in the midst of a recruitment counter that’s moving again and a contagious optimism around the state, and particularly right on the heels of such an encouraging endorsement from a celebrity icon for liberty, it amazes me that you still manage to be pessimistic.

You have a knack for it, obviously. I’m glad you’ve given up on the FSP because we’re just getting rolling and you’re just baggage. Good riddance.

All I ever hear from you is complaining. You complain that Keene voluntaryists get attention from the press and bemoan that no press attention is lavished on your political efforts. On the other hand you console yourself by saying that you don’t want attention for what you do, that you just wish voluntaryists would stop being so disobedient so you could get some respect from the advocates of coercion you are attempting to influence.

Now you complain that I profit from advocating liberty.

It all sounds like envy to me.

Perhaps instead of getting so worked up about us voluntaryist types you should just focus on whatever makes you happy. If that’s doing politics, you should just do it, because the voluntaryist kind of activism you so despise is not going to stop until the coercion ends. No amount of caterwauling will dissuade us. Your reaction tells me we’re doing the right thing.

Also, in your attempt to attack my chosen profession, you missed answering my question, which I will now ask again:

What is your goal, and why are people living freely so dangerous to it?

I don’t know you AD, but perhaps you could consider the great reforms that have been made in U.S. history because of civil disobedience.

I daresay Rosa Parks did not hurt the cause of equality. I daresay the politically involved of her time were made far more effective by the boycott.

People are good at different things — some like civil disobedience, others like politics. Let people do what they enjoy, and are good at, to fight for liberty.

I hardly know you and have never ever had any problems with you. But it’s curious that someone who is such a strong advocate of these tactics, also makes your living from advocating them.

The Boston Globe article sucked, all the people getting arrested are not helping us any. It is hurting our cause now and it is going to hurt the cause of liberty in the long run.
