From listening to the mp3 of his arrest and seeing the video of his court hearing, the notion that Mr. Hoffman is living as a “free human being” is certainly open to question He’s clearly beset with problems related to impulse control and anger; these are personality difficulties that can significantly compromise a person’s ability to live constructively, happily, and indeed freely. Hoffman seems to have found an ideology that, in his mind at least, creates a scenario through which he understands his own misery and finds someone(s)/something(s) to blame for it. But since it’s a false belief system, he can’t progress; he remains stuck, imprisoned. I would think it would be hard to see a family member struggle like that; the concern Hoffman’s sister expressed is understandable.

One can not be free while other individuals feel the need to impose their will on them through aggressive means.

I’d agree that Kurt would have been better off had he been more pleasant throughout the entire ordeal… however it seems pretty obvious in the large scope why one would be aggravated.

Could you clarify that statement about Mr. Hoffman’s belief system?

You have a complex where you launch yourself into pseudo-intellectual grandeur, both at the same time able to “diagnose” his “problems” (which only a hack would do, because any pyschologist worth their education would tell you that time should be spent with a subject in order to reach a conclusion) and declare a political philosophy with roots as old humanity itself invalid without bothering to actually respond to the vast works out there.

Should Kurt be angry? Should you or I be angry? Hell yes!! Dissent is PATRIOTIC. In 1776, patriotism meant a lot more than waving a flag and it still does today. In Thomas Paine’s day, support for American freedom was an act of dissent. There are clearly far too many ‘flag wavers” out there who idolly sit by and allow tyrannical big governments to abuse their super powers. A Police State is on the rise and people had better wake up and do something about it fast. Kurt or the FSP memebers may not be the majority but they are brave enough to take a stand for the cause of Freedom and look out for their fellow man. We NEED more of these!!
