    Minor grammar correction: “There are” does not contract to “there’s”.

    Sorry for nit picking, but I couldn’t resist ;) .

    the cop said “there’s” not “there are”.

    what is the correct grammar to use there, if we are directly quoting someone?

    If you’re directly quoting somebody who’s using “bad”, or incorrect grammar, try using (sic) after every quoted mistake…*OR*, just reproduce the quote as exactly as possible, mistakes and all, & let their ignorance speak for itself…You could be *EXTRA* *SNARKY*, & call the grammar police…(I’m pretty sure that American English is *NOT* Rivera’s native tongue…is it, Paco???…)…You’re welcome, SMEG, good to read your postings again!…

    i have a hand in a lot of the posts for OTN, i just don’t have my name on them ;) i’m always here, just not in an obvious way.

    but i’m trying to take a more visible role here, because i believe that many people saying the same thing in different ways (ie. peace and love are the answer to a better society) gives us a better chance to achieve understanding from “outsiders”.
