Two weeks before election day, the crew behind the campaign to elect Nick Ryder to City Council has released 4 promotional clips. They play back to back in the below embedded video:

Campaign staff will also be ramping up brochure distribution in the final weeks to spread Ryder’s name and idea recognition. He is the only candidate bringing anything resembling a new perspective to the Council race saturated with incumbents and former councilmen. This is made clear when he is the only candidate that media hosts debate with during interviews.

He is a handsome lad. Way to use the system to effect change. I will probably not vote for you though

What a surprise. The out of the system activists don’t appeal to the both of you. So here’s Ryan trying to use the system to change it. I guess a message of individual freedom, lower taxes, and staying the hell out of other people’s business doesn’t appeal to either of you.

They’re all great — last one’s the best. And yeah, Michael, it’s funny how that works. They say work within the system for more freedom, but it looks like they don’t want freedom that way either.

Perhaps an ad with Darth Vader saying resistance is futile would get them excited, or perhaps a mommy character, promising to take care of them, and make all of their decisions for them. Then again, maybe one with robin hood would be the best, with the slogan, “I’ll rob those rich guys blind and give the loot to you”.

Anyhow, it’s good to know it’s not really the methods they have a problem with, it’s just liberty itself they can’t stand.

I’d have added some headshots to the first 3 to spice them up from just being all text. For the 3rd, I’d have found it amusing to pander to the statists by adding “Together” i.e. “Together, we’ll find out.” or “We’ll find out. Together.” The masses love collectivism.

The last one just made me laugh though I know it wasn’t intentional. I think maybe some additional explanation besides “No one is.” might have helped in giving the viewer a reason to vote for him.

I doubt even Nick thinks he has a snowball’s chance at winning and the election is just going to prove that the system is too resistant to change from the inside to bother with but those are certainly valuable conclusions to take away from any experiment.

With that and what happened to Julia, Ron Paul and others, I think we’ll have more than enough conclusive evidence that validates the alternative methods being used by activists.

They may not all work, but those who care about the principles of personal freedom, self-responsibility and non-aggression have to do something instead of watching personal liberty get flushed down the toilet or cheering on the Tidy Bowl Man as it does, like the statists do.

…well, if LIBERTY is gonna get flushed down the toilet, at least it’s a clean toilet…gotta respect the ole’ red-white-&-blue doncha’ know!?…amazing the labor $7.50/hour gets these days, around here!…

I like the first one the best.

The last one is good too, but I’m really afraid the message would get lost on most and it may not motivate them to vote for you. I’m no political expert though.

I vote for the last one. Wait, did I say I’d vote?

I liked these so much I accidentally posted them to the blog again.

    Good luck, Nick.

    Lulz.

    Politics is a joke.

I liked the last one. Most will get it although some just won’t.
