Feeding “the Flame”

Filed under: Announcement — Vesuvius at 5:12 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Social Sundays has had a tough time finding a regular venue since the decision to move on from Vendetta was made. Abunara (which means “the flame” in Arabic) is a private, middle-eastern themed cultural club located at the Center at Keene. They will begin opening on Sundays this week. They offer a great selection of Mediterranean cuisine, made from scratch. Open carry is fine. For more information visit them on the web. http://www.abunara.com/

Membership is $20 per year, which allows you to bring two guests. As a member, you can come in and merely hang out without being expected to spend money. Until further notice, it is BYOB, but cigarettes are not allowed. Hope to see you all Sunday at 5.

Editor’s note: This is a special Private Club edition of Social Sundays. Abunara accepts members over 18 years of age and younger people are allowed with their parents. This event is in addition to the current 3pm public event at the other location. See this forum thread for details.

To clarify to readers, I believe this is planned for 5pm, meaning it starts well after the normal Social Sunday event, still at McCues.

I wanted to get this in before some of our regular commenters go off and wonder if we had an issue with McCues as well. We did not.

Thanks for catching that one Nick. If McCue’s fades as a meeting place, it will only be due to lack of interest and not to any issues between Social Sunday attendees and McCue’s. I was very pleased with the rodeo burger I had Sunday. Prices were good too.

The Perils of Childish Narcissism as a Movement Strategy

Ian:
I’m wonderful, appealing and make all sorts of sense. I know this because that’s what I see in front of me when I look in the mirror. This greatness is certainly apparent to others, as they will clearly see in the speeches I make, the words I write and the videos in which I appear.

People outside of Ian-Bubble-World:
My goodness, you really are an obnoxious, nonsensical idiot.

Ian:
People, you think I’m an obnoxious, nonsensical idiot because you don’t know me well enough. Listen to me speak, read what I write, watch me on video; the more you look at and listen to me, the more you will see what I see in the mirror, and the more you’ll believe in what I’m saying!

People:
Listened to you, read what you wrote, saw you on video. We’ll amend our previous assessment: you’re clearly a DOUBLY-obnoxious, nonsensical idiot. In fact, the more we see you, the more obnoxious and nonsensical you appear to be. Do you really want people to know this?

Ian:
I want people to know the truth, and the truth is what I see every day in my mirror.

Liberty-Activist Movement:
“…..help….(glug)…..help…….(gasp)……I’m drowning……..(burble)……..”

end scene

I would be willing to bet $10 (or equivalent amount of gold, silver, or non fiat currency) that AnAmazedReader is the same hate filled person as CaptainAmerica from the keenesentinel.com .

Since the move to this venue was entirely my prerogative as a business I frequent often, your comment is completely out of line, Ann. Furthermore, what does your personal assessment of Ian have to do with hookahs and fallafel?

Ann,

A little reading tip for you. Underneath the headline of each article is a line in green that states the name of the blogger who posted it. Just so you are aware, this blog features many more people than just me.

That said, thanks so much for defending the status quo of statism – someone had to do it. I’m so glad it is you.
