On Thursday, January 7th HB1347 is to heard before the NH House Judiciary Committee.

House bill 1347 would require that “In all court proceedings the court shall instruct the jury of its inherent right to judge the law as well as the facts and to nullify any and all actions they find to be unjust.”

If you can make it to the State House to support this bill please do. If you can’t make it you could still help out by sending an email asking committee members to support this bill.

I agree, I believe it would be the first of its kind. I cannot think of another state that requires the court to inform the jurors of the right to nullify.

I just recently had jury duty, and I couldn’t believe how adamantly the judge kept saying that we could only base our ruling on the facts of the case. She kept flat out telling us that our opinions of the law didn’t matter. Just one more reason I can’t wait to move to NH.

It would be an incredible achievement for liberty if this were to pass. Of course, since we are talking about state legislators here, I have zero faith that they will do the right thing and pass it.

This might be as effective as smoking in central square.
