When we make laws that do not respect the population, you have a population that does not respect laws, or the individuals that enforce them. This is common ground that marijuana users, medical and recreational stand on and it has been a gigantic waste of resources. Prohibition does not work, marijuana laws need repeal.

Bravo for being… shall we say… two-thirds principled, but you’re still a thug if you arrest someone who possesses, uses, or grows marijuana for recreational use.

This man is very brave and this action is commendable. My question is whether he is sworn to uphold the law or uphold the constitution – or does it equate to the same thing.
In any case I wish we had more conscientious officers like this one who choose to do the right thing even when it goes against what may be expected.
