Portsmouth Police Exempt From Their Own Rules

Though most will say this is not a big deal. I film police doing ‘little’ things wrong because it exposes the double standard police have. If it’s no big deal to be parking in illegal spots then why do they write so many tickets for them? Why are they allowed such privileges?

Better yet, where does this exemption stop? Is it just for parking while on duty? Or can this officer cruise by the store to do some shopping as well? Are officers exempt from the drug, gun and alcohol laws that? Don’t get me wrong I wish all these things would disappear. I ask officers to be ticketed or treated like they treat others because I feel that’s the only way for them to realize the cause of their actions.

    If it were private property, the owner could have a double standard and there would be no complaint by liberty activists. But since the property in question was paid for through theft, it does not legitimately belong to the government.

    Cops don’t enforce traffic laws against other cops. Everyone in the world knows that.

    I meant to post something like this in response to the Slantinel editorial piece or the last copblock video, but never got around to it.

    The increased militarization of the police force is encouraging a very bad attitude among cops. It is increasing the “us vs them” mentality between “law enforcement officers” and “civilians”. Despite the political rhetoric from everyone, when it comes to crime there are no enemies and there is no war. We’re all citizens. We’re all the same. Just because some folks have jobs of trying to help preserve order and justice among the community does not make them different or place them above the rest of the community. They’re still citizens like everyone else.

    Boston police park illegally all the time – so often that it has sparked a number of major news stories about it. But nothing ever changes. Who’s going to ticket them, other police?

    The officer on the phone was lying, they are not allowed to park there unless there is an emergency.

    Definitely not KoK! I suggest you seek out friends, and/or perhaps a church, so you can get some support. If find difficult times more tolerable the more good people there are around to talk to and spend time with.
