In Boston cops can make up to 250k through overtime doing this crap. People don't believe me when I tell them that, until I show them the public payrolls. Most of the construction is unnecessary in the first place, rewards to politically connected contractors. You see the cops standing everywhere on the side of the road, holding their Dunking Donuts coffee, shooting the breeze with the workers – doing absolutely jack squat. Most of them are old and fat. There's no corruption like public union corruption. NH cops are amateurs in this regard. Boston politicians and police officers invented and perfected the "construction detail."
