Shire Society Declaration vs. US Constitution

A FreeKeene.com reader/commenter has asked me the following question regarding the Shire Society Declaration:

BTW: How is that “Shire Society” document NOT just another Constitution-type, set of simple statutes? In other words, SAME THING, as the current system of (unjust)laws???

I is none constitutional scholar… but I’d say the vast difference is found in the second provision of the document:

Second, no individual or association of individuals, however constituted, has the right to initiate force against any other individual;

If all of the sudden a 28th Amendment were to be smacked onto the United States Constitution which mimicked the above, we would have a voluntary society.  A society where wearing a costume and a piece of metal on your chest no longer instills a magical ability to initiate violence against someone.

Imagine that.

This question may be one that other people not directly involved in liberty circles have.  Perhaps you could have a better explanation to this question than I did?

Please, show me up below.  :D

    Short version:

    SSD: “I pledge to act as described in this document.”

    USC: “Our group (and our future predecessors) pledge to act as described in this document while hitting people and taking their stuff thus making it okay even though its just lipservice and we’ll completely ignore this document’s terms and do whatever we want regardless.”

    Two words: unanimous consent.

    The Constitution was foisted upon others by a relatively-small percentage of the population. And no one alive today participated in that. Some have voluntarily chosen to take oaths in support of it, but they are the only members of the population who can be said to actually consent to it.

    The Shire Society Declaration is an agreement between members. It has 100% support of those members. No one is part of it against their will. Absolutely every member can be said to have an obligation to abide those rules, because absolutely every member freely and knowingly signed it, without duress.

    So, because I never signed the Shire Society Declaration, I can just assume it to be just another worthless piece of paper with meaningless words written on it???…Right???…BTW: I followed the links included here, relative to the Shire Society Declaration, and its’ “borrowing” from another author. Is “freekeene” gonna send the publisher an invoice for all that free publicity? I bet Toadstool Bookshops at Colony Mill Marketplace in Keene might even sell a few copies of that authors’ books…(yes, I’m preparing MY OWN invoice for them. Why should I waste all my time writing this crap, if I’m not ever gonna see a dime out of it???..Ain’t contract law wonderful???…

    For you? Yep.

    That amendment would be meaningless. The government considers itself a separate entity, which doesn’t qualify as an “individual or association of individuals”.
