On WKBK yesterday morning, politician Bob Guida, who is running for “US Representative” was on with Al Kulas. As much as I wanted to ask him about his desire for a police state (“immigration” being his excuse), I decided to go with secession questions. Here’s the archive.

At least he said it was an option.

Bob says regarding the Constitution: “The way we fix this is by electing people to Congress that not only say it, and swear it, but mean it and live it.”

This means that he supports the immediate end of the federal drug war, right?

On a scale of 1 to 10 from authoritarian to voluntaryist he deserves a solid 5 at least. Most of these politicians would have started berating you while bellowing an impromptu pledge of allegiance.

You lot need to drop the drugs and get jobs. You have too much time to PLAY!

This is the first time I’ve heard Bob Guida speak directly. Everything else I’ve heard-slash-read had been filtered through mainstream NH news, mostly the Union Leader.

Those previous reports left me ambivalent about him. He seemed to be a mixed bag, but you have to remember I was reading reporters’ versions of what he said, not what he actually said.

I understand Ian’s point here, and I agree with him that Guida might be opposed to the ideal of “without rulers”, but from what Guida said in this interview, he seems to be a HUGE step from the status quo towards minarchism.

(Note: he hinted that we have different ideas about immigration. We can work on that. Meanwhile, it would be nice to have someone in office who opposes blatantly extra-constitutional law.)

Dennis, are you from UK? I’ve never heard anyone from the US refer to a group as “you lot” unless maybe they were 90 years old.

Yeah, as far as politicians go, he doesn’t seem to bad.

He has my vote. What a great answer, btw.

I asked him all about guns… got the typical answer.
I asked about 10th Amendment and got a tea party answer. I pressed home Healthcare etc etc etc…. and he agreed with me.
Then I asked him about drugs… he sputtered…. I said … where in the US Constitution does it say that they can regulate pot? He then said he agreed with me and needed to think about it… (I give him credit for that)

All that at being said… he would be 100x better than Bass.
