FKFThe Keene Sentinel’s photographer Steve Hooper was at yesterday’s Free Keene Fest and this photo of his was published in today’s paper, with the following caption:

Jason Talley, left, of Grafton, talks with Jim Johnson of Winchester, who operates the “Answer Wheel” at the Free Keene Fest event on Railroad Square Sunday afternoon. Free Keene members, self-described liberty activists, put on the yard sale along with entertainment, as well as distributing informational fliers about their philosophy.

Interestingly, Free Keene Fest was described as a “yard sale”. I’m not sure if that is better or worse than “flea market”…

Well, a flea market spurred a forcible shutdown, right? Maybe a "yard sale" is less illegal.

    Damn itinerant vendors ruining society.

    My yard has fleas….

Yard sale, flea market, whatever you call it, it's all overvalued leftovers from a bygone era. Pack it up and go away Free Keene/Free State losers!

  • Heika

@Hardky…It was a festival, and no leftovers! There were creative, new, fun items for sale, as well as things that weren't for sale. There was also a fundraiser and clothing drive built into the festival. So I fail to see how any of this makes anyone that participated a loser. And fyi, there were over a hundred and fifty locals that attended the Free Keene Fest. A local even set up a table to sell her crafts. Does that mean that they are losers as well? Families, business owners, teenagers, even a state rep came and hung out for a while. The police and and most of the town didn't seem to mind the festival in the least, so again, why would you want this packed up and away?
