Ademo and Derrick Arrested at District Court Today; Ademo Still in Jail
Filed under: Corruption, Court, Issues, News, Personal Freedom, Police, Thuggery
Local Keene-native liberty activist Kate Ager has written a blog post on her facebook regarding this morning’s kidnapping of Ademo Freeman and Derrick Horton:
I woke up this morning (Tuesday June 28, 2011) to a Keene 411 text message alerting me that, “Ademo Freeman just got arrested at city hall,” so I went down there. When I arrived, I passed Jason Repsher downstairs who was doing Don’t Take the Plea outreach and proceeded to the second floor where the first thing I saw upon opening the door was a Keene Police officer grabbing Derrick Horton’s arm; he was ordered to put his camera on the counter, placed under arrest and taken into a back room. Ademo, who was being held in the conference room, was taken to a room off to the side where I could see him through the window and spoken to by multiple police officers. After their encounter, Ademo was taken to the Keene Police Department. Jason Repsher stayed at the Keene District Court to watch Derrick’s proceedings while Rich Paul and I went to the police department to gain further information about Ademo. At the police department, the woman at the front desk said that she did not know any information and would speak with the arresting officer when he was free for a moment. We checked in with her multiple times, but she did not follow through. About forty-five minutes after arriving, I was standing outside with Rich and Jason, when Officer Short drove into the parking lot and informed us that Derrick had been transported to the police department and would be released shortly, and Ademo was being charged with a Class B Felony, Improper Influence [*]. Koch Industries and the Keene Sentinel on Free Keene
Recently, Slate.com’s David Weigel ran a piece on Free Keene and that prompted Koch Industries to send David a notice informing him that Koch Industries has nothing to do with Free Keene.
Whether paranoid political control freaks want to believe it is up-to-them.
In other news, the Keene Sentinel acknowledges Free Keene as a viable competitor in the same breath as WMUR TV in this piece about how the Sentinel handled the self-immolation, from former Sentinel staffer Sarah Palermo. The Sentinel’s Jessica Garcia said:
“We were a little disappointed, to tell you the truth, when other news sources such as WMUR and even Free Keene had video from the scene”
How did FK scoop the Sentinel? It was all thanks to Porcupine 411 and activist Kurt Hoffman for making the call.
The War on Hats Continues!
The City of Keene’s War on Hats on continues and Judge Burke is making you (the taxpayers) pay for what he claims is ‘disrespect.’
This morning, while attending the court proceedings of other activists, Beau Davis was arrested for wearing a hat. This past January James Cemorelis and Matt Griffin, both who are employed by the Keene Police Department – with help from Peter Macy (Keene Bailiff), physically assaulted Pete Eyre for wearing a hat. Those charges, issued by police, were later dropped by the District Attorney’s office.
NPR Reports on Porcfest
Here’s the story that NPR is running on the 2011 Porcupine Freedom Festival.
SUSAN STAMBERG, host:
Raising money has also been tough for little-known Republican presidential candidate Gary Johnson. The former New Mexico governor has called his own fundraising pathetic. Johnson is hoping to jump-start his campaign at a unique political event winding down now in the mountains of New Hampshire. It is the Porcupine Freedom Festival, or Porcfest, and it’s an offshoot of the Free State Project, a movement to colonize the Live Free or Die state with people who believe government should do no more than protect individual rights. LOT’s Beau Arrested In Keene District Court
After sitting in court quietly for around 20 minutes, a court security officer walked up to Beau in the middle of a trial and told him he should remove his hat.
The judge took notice of the hat moments later and called a recess with the ultimatum “If you still have the hat on when I come back, I’m going to hold you in contempt.”
The video picks up during this recess.
He was later brought back before Judge Burke and sent to jail for 5 days for this.

Julian Heicklen, who has been arrested over thirty times for civil disobedience and noncooperation, will be doing jury nullification outreach at Cheshire superior court today from 11:45am-1:15pm. Be sure to come out and meet him.
Cheshire superior court is the same court that a man self-immolated in front of two weeks ago, due to his frustrations with the “justice” system.
