    ZOMG collectivism!

Move to NH. No personal income tax, no general sales tax and no property taxes in some areas!

The places in NH without property tax are few. Supposedly, you can live in a cabin up north in one of these “grant towns” or whatever they’re called, but be warned you’ll be living in the middle of nowhere with very little human contact. Also, there are very few jobs up north; all the places which give NH its “high quality of life” rating are in the Boston Metropolitan Area.

Think about Hanover and the towns that border it. All of those towns are part of the “high quality of life” rating. Hanover isn’t in the Boston Metropolitan Area.

The same is true for Concord and all of the towns that border it. I don’t know for sure but I doubt Concord is in the Boston Metropolitan Area.

What about Milford? Is it in the Boston Metropolitan Area?

Certainly Wolfeboro and the towns near it aren’t in the Boston Metropolitan Area.

But plenty of fees, unbelievably high property taxes and poor infrastructure.

Property taxes in NH are not actually, “unbelievably high.” They’re higher than in some places, but not at all “unbelievable.” And they’re under local control – lower the budget, and the tax rate automatically drops. Plus, they are not regressive, like sales taxes. Overall, NH has the lowest tax burden in the continental US.

    • Keith Smith

No. There are no property taxes in some areas. No does not equal unbelievably high. Also, NH tends to have lower fees than the near-by states. In some ways, the infrastructure is even better.
