Keene Ward One Candidate David Crawford Promises to Un-Legislate

In a letter to the editor of the Keene Sentinel, David Crawford, the republican candidate for state representative in Ward One in Keene promises to “un-legislate”, support small businesses, and the little guy.  The primary election is on September 9th, but Crawford is unopposed in the primary.  He will likely go on to the general election and face either democrat James “Robin Hood” Cleaveland or democrat and political newcomer William Pearson.

Here’s David’s letter:

My name is David Crawford; I am a candidate for representative of Keene.

This letter is to ask for your vote in the upcoming election. I have been a Keene resident for 20 years. I have been going to Judy’s coffee shop (Prime Roast) for forever.

I am sorry that I missed the screening of Jumanji at the Colonial, just past, as a tribute to Robin Williams.

How will I vote if elected? My votes will be against legislation that would tie small businesses and against legislation that would take money out of hard workers’ pockets.

Mostly my votes will be to un-legislate: If there is a vote that would be against the flourishing of small business, I will vote against it. I will vote against the infringement of government into peoples’ lives.

That means I think Rowe vs. Wade was decided rightly. That also means I would approve of any legalization of marijuana.

That also means I am against “right to work”:

“Right to work” puts government between the worker and the employer; government should also not get between the marijuana user and the plant; and government should also not get between a woman and her doctor.

Thank you for your time friends and neighbors,

David Crawford
