Kurt's experience provides yet another example of why cameras should always be allowed wherever public servants are conducting business. I think the people involved in making those decisions would be wise to reconsider allowing public business to be recorded by members of the public. Should Kurt choose to sue Keene, Rivera and the KPD for the excessive use of force and other violations of his civil rights, gobs of tax dollars would be spent defending those claims to the bitter end. That "bitter end" just might be a money judgment that winds up taking an even bigger bite out of… Read more »
Must watch video. The last scene where Ian talks one on one with the officer is classic.
Amazing stuph, thanks OTN(!)
I don't know what to think of most of this story, absent a bunch more in the way of solid facts and circumstances. But I am incensed by the theft of that cellphone by the EMT. That wasn't a simple case of the EMT losing his cool, simple assault, battery, criminal damage, whatever — all of which, in certain contexts and circumstances, I might understand and forgive. That was blatant theft, and was aided and abetted by the police officer into whose custody he delivered it, whose training should have allowed him, at least, to maintain a cooler head. Then… Read more »
I don't think anybody was surprised by this video. We all know this is occurring. It is wonderful however to see these cops reaction when Ian, sam, and all the other great activist in new hampshire, say the stuff they do. You can definitely see the wheels turner in their heads.
Great vid Sam and Ian, will post on http://libertyshock.com
What company did that EMT work for I want to call them.
Is theft and assault part of their corporate policy?
Oh it's a government employee for the Keene fire dept, he works for the government. Typical.
HIPPA, the health insurance portability and privacy act, was meant to protect the health information of patients, not to remove accountability from providers. Precautions are also required to protect patient safety during their care. A complaint should be filed with the licensing and accreditation agencies against the EMT officers who allowed the gurney to drop when trying to put him in the ambulance. I was really discouraged by their lack of professionalism. I expect medical providers to behave as such, not as law enforcement personal.
A little note on the ending conversation that Ian had with the police officer.
He says he likes peace officers, by using the expression peace officer rather than peace keeper it conveys that not just anybody can be a keeper of peace but it must be an official state office.
I would not be able to be peaceful in this situation. I would have responded similarly to the way that a cop would react to another member of the force being thrown to the ground head first with bound hands. thats right, it would have warranted LETHAL FORCE! But not for the citizens that they are protecting. Fuck them all.
By the way, yall need a locksmith. Someone to pick the locks to allow into the rooms you are LEGALLY ALLOWED IN WITH CAMERAS!!!
Your charade is over, you movement is done. You will be singled out and brought down. I will enjoy watching you terrorists fall
Hey dude, just for the record, his phone was temp. taken because of the patients bill of rights. Read it. At the point of where the paramedics were there he is a patient. Go into the ER at CMC with your camera and see how quickly you are thrown out. Other people have rights too, not just you. And lets make it clear, this guy tripped when he went after the judge, then he is lying on the floor , kissing his wife, talking ,sitting up, moving around. Now he is hurt, what an actor. You can film but you… Read more »
Watch the other videos, from the earlier post. The reason there is no video of Rivera's assault itself is because cameras were not allowed in the room where they took him. The only censorship here is being perpetrated by your government.
Oh, and you're flat wrong about the camera. That was public property, and the patient wanted to be filmed. Stop making lame excuses for whatever violence your favored thugs decide to perpetrate on innocent people.
Jesus, seeing the disgusting actions of every "officials" there turns my stomach. It does seem that there is a change happening with the LEO's, by their expressions and comments, and lets hope that they choose to do the right thing and start protecting the people from the "Officials" and cleaning out their own ranks.
That was a very thought provoking exchange Ian had with the cop at the end of the clip. Keep up the good work.
Another stupid stunt by the Free staters, if you were so concerned about your friend why would you bother the EMT's as they do their job? You were more concerned in filming than his status.
Did it ever cross your mind that our friend WANTED us to record the scene?
as a physician
HIPPA
Find out exactly what provisions of this act forced them to prevent your filming AT THE REQUEST of your friend who was being treated. I know of no provisions of this act which relate to this.
In any case, the injury to the neck is clearly the responsibility of the people who took him in the back room.
I am very sorry to see this happen. We all deserve much better than this.
If I may be of some service in this matter; please contact me.
business as usual:
police and firemen protecting the government's reputation from public viewing
funny, those hippa statues apply to them protecting the identity of the public. So, if there were 30 cameras around would it be okay for the EMT to shoot all 30 people, I mean he has to do what he has to do right?
Theft, aggression, assault are not ways adults should be handling problems.
speaking of problems, these EMT's seem more worried about being on youtube (themselves) rather than properly loading someone into an ambulance. What jokers. Get back to work and stop worrying about your future stardom.
HIPAA my butt. Even to the extent that HIPAA provides for anything, it sure doesn't cover that. Not showing pictures of people getting or having just been seriously and graphically injured is a matter of respect for the person, not the pro-union anti-small-business HIPAA laws.
Anton is on the money, I think, they couldn't care less about the patient per se, they're more worried about being captured in a spot of practical imperfection or negligence.
Great work again folks. I'm still shocked that the people of Keene (non free staters) don't understand that Free Staters are there to help. You keep allowing government to use force and avoid being held accountability of their actions, then nothing will come of it. I'm proud of my fellow free staters and will be right next to them soon enough.
Any word on the extent of the injuries? Was his neck broken? Is he alright?
According to the nurse…x-rays showed no broken bones. I was not able to ask him how he was feeling. They never let me go back to see him and they snuck him out of the hospital off to jail.
Thanks, Research101. The fact that the hospital released him to go to jail tells me that it's unlikely his injuries were serious. Then again, we're dealing with the cops in the video. Hopefully, medical reality prevailed.
Using the police against your fellow man is never justified.
Government is aggression, aggression is wrong, even when its use suits your needs or purposes.
This is where we need a DRO service to follow up privately with the thief.
I hope you all fall someday, the people you have down at the square don't even understand government at all. They have no idea how it works. Do any of them understand how this country was formed or why it was formed, bet you they don't. Can they tell you what the Bill of Rights are, or what the Constitution says, you all look like a bunch of IDIOTS standing out there on the Common. 90% of the entire city does not like you at all they think you are dumb for standing out there. Another thing, you have such… Read more »
Clearly the previous Josh is twelve. Do YOU know the purpose of government? I sure do know what the constitution, specifically the first, second, eighth and ninth items of the bill of rights: First: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Second: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep… Read more »
Josh, I'm sure that most of the 420 crowd are well aware of the pretty platitudes in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Nice language. Too bad there's no enforcement clause. Then when legislators and police prove that they don't understand the meaning of their oaths to uphold and defend that Constitution, something they do every day, we'd have a legal recourse. Smoking cannabis is not a crime. No matter how many blatantly unconstitutional so-called "laws" the organized criminals in DC or Concord pass. Crimes have victims. Smoking dope does not. Government's single method is violence or the threat… Read more »
Whoa Bill, Josh didn't say that. He could have meant that he was going to sew someone's lips shut. Or stabbed their voice box. Or something.
He could have even meant that he would do something to himself, like repeatedly blow an air horn into his ears, or leave the area permanently.
Just sayin…
You're right, LPVIPER, Josh didn't actually "say" that. But that was the implication I read.
I totally get you, Bill. However, it's a good idea (in my humble opinion lol) not to assign deeds or the intent thereof to people who have not thusly acted.
With that in mind, I would watch my step around 'Josh'. He sounds like a dangerous and misguided individual.
I am not misguided nor am I dangerous.
I will assume you are telling the truth, Josh, but answer me this; What did you mean by, 'if you come over to me i will make it so you will never talk to me again…'?
It sounds dangerous. Help us understand you by clarifying what you mean there.
Thanks
This is the problem with alot you, you all think people are out to hurt you physically. What i meant by it was you would come up to my car and have an extremely unpleasnt time trying to speak to me about your opinions on the subject. I would not hurt anyone.
Josh I think you have read it wrong. Liberty lovers are peaceful people and so we don't like violence and we seek to distance ourselves from it. The uninitiated may charge that we're oversensitive, but it's simply that we take our principles very seriously.
Thank you for clarifying the intent of your statement, Josh. I apologize if violent intent was implied by me in response to your (admittedly vague) statement. May I ask why you would not be open to listening to the opinions of others on the subject of…I'm sorry, what was the subject? Was it legalization of drugs? Personally, I listen to everyone, even those whom I 'hate', because I don't want to miss out on some nugget of knowledge that I may pick up, and could not by closing my ears and mind to that person. What is your view?
Thanks
