In a recent episode of Freedom Watch, Judge Napolitano talks to Lynn Chong, former chair of the Belknap (NH) County Democrats. Frustrated with Obama’s foreign policy, she changed her voter registration from Democrat to independent udeclared and will vote for Ron Paul.
(Bet you won’t see this on Blue Hampshire.)
[Update: Jay, in the comments, recommends BlueRepublican.org. It’s an interesting site.
A related article in The Laconia Daily Sun provides more info:
“I would definitely call myself a progressive,” said Will Hopkins of Belmont [NH], who returned from a tour as infantryman in Iraq to become executive director of New Hampshire Peace Action, a group seeking to end foreign wars and cut defense budgets. “I supported Obama in 2008, but I’m supporting Ron Paul. That’s where I’m putting my eggs this year,” he said. “A lot of folks in the peace movement are taking a close look at Paul.”]
Get ready for the lawsuit: Violation of oath of office, false arrest, false imprisonment, and I’d throw in battery for good measure. They will lose BIG. fascist libtard idiots.

Can people PLEASE stop associating everything with fucking politics? It’s really fucking annoying and only causes unneeded problems. Nobody gives a fuck if you think liberals are retards, get the fuck out of here!
Oh, Jackson. You are typical of the low IQ people that are making these things happen in this country. It *is* a political issue, due to the current attack on freedom of speech (read about that so that your comments won’t be so ignorant) and common core education which is sexualizing youth. It is impossible to separate politics from this story. Sadly, you are not a bright enough bulb to realize this, shed any light on the situation, or offer any interesting or original thoughts. god you free keene morons all sound the same. hate to break it to you, but nobody is “sexualizing youth.” youth are already sexual. humans in their natural environment are already having sex and impregnating each other by the age of twelve. it is our culture which REPRESSES sexuality, not the other way around. anyway, am i the only one that finds it a little ironic that this website claims to be “freeing” Keene, yet demanding that books be censored? what exactly do you consider “free”? in my mind, censorship is one of the key components of moral or religious… Read more »

Again, you are painfully stupid and misquote both the express message and the theme of my post. He has every right to be there, since his daughter is enrolled in the school. I did not say this was police brutality. It is, however, an arrest without probable cause. I, unlike you, am an attorney. I understand the laws and constitution as you clearly do not. I am a loyal follower of copblock. It is useful idiots like you that are accepting and following the fascist playbook and making state actions liker this possible. .
You’re a republican calling someone else a fascist ! That’s an oxymoron ! If not for the the tracks laid by your watch dogs Cheney and Rumsfeld . You wouldn’t have anything constitutional to whine about. You are too naive to see that the Pugs And Dems are actually paving the same road and playing their naive constituents such as yourself. Clueless. The very people you claim to be fascist are anything BUT. Conservatives or Republicans don’t want to control you, they just don’t want to be controlled by elites such as yourself who think it’s OK to impose their agenda on others and dictate or mandate such nonsense as board approved perversion, choice in light bulbs, toilets, etc. Open your eyes.
LOL I love it how you can’t speak without insulting people. Real mature.
I can and do speak without insulting people every day. The aggressive attacks by several low-information morons on this forum are too ripe not to pick. LOL *I* love how you have contributed not a single intelligent thought to the dialogue. Keep trolling and jumping in for scraps. There is nothing wrong with last place.
You were the second comment on here and from the very beginning have done nothing but spew insults…
Uneducated trolls who can neither read nor follow the thread, and who misstate and misquote things they do not understand deserve no better. And actually, you are wrong as well. Try sorting by “Oldest”, and you will see my comment started the thread. I have also refrained from insulting you, as you can see, despite the fact that you have contributed a single insubstantial comment that is wrong.
Ah yes he does, It is public property,…bought and built by tax payers money. the school bd are caretakers not owners.
He presumably pays taxes — it is his property too.
The guy calmed down and stopped interrupting. The cop should have backed off. But they never do — hurts their pitiful pride too much.
Other way around, it is not THEIR property, it belongs to the taxpayers, and the stewardship granted the school board is contingent on honoring the taxpayers’ First Amendment rights, most particularly in matters pertaining to their childrens’ education and the conduct of these elected public servants.
It is not a matter of being *allowed* to read, as you so naively and ignorantly misstate. It is a matter of being *forced* to read. It is mandatory reading. You would know this if you read the article. Of course, don’t ban the book, Did I ever say that? Just remove it from the curriculum for children this age. Also, you are completely wrong on the sexualization of youth. It is part and parcel of the communist playbook, and is listed as one of the principal steps that must be done to achieve communism. AHAHAHAHAHAA.
Are you SERIOUSLY implying youth aren’t already sexualized? What do you REALLY think 14 year olds feel about sex? Here’s a hint: It’s not what you family values dinosaurs think it is. When I was 14, I was one of the horniest little shits in school, and knowing some of the kids (boys and girls) that was saying A LOT.
The fact that you were/are a “little shit” is obvious and need not be stated. Once again, you clearly have some reading to do. Check out the communist manifesto and writings which expressly require sexualization of youth. It is a stated goal in the communist playbook, The fact that you so readily fell into it is no surprise to me. The fact that human beings are predisposed to be sexual is not the issue here. You have missed the fine points of the argument. It is a communist goal to capitalize and push this inclination, as we see here by… Read more »

Pervert. It’s one thing if you have no control over your behavior, your comments prove that out to a ‘T’, it’s another to have adults, those who are supposed to be ‘educating’ our future generations to be ‘contributing members of society’ instead of creating perverts like themselves. This is taxpayer funded child abuse. Had parents chose to have a book club with children of this age, they would likely be arrested, as they should be. It’s your protestant-rooted sexphobic ethics that are destroying the country who is moving forward. No, you’d rather stick your head in the sand, as usual. Just spouting rhetoric. (I… Read more »
Actually, no, modern liberals are devout fascists. Nearly every plank of modern liberalism is straight neo-fascism, and vice-versa.
Don’t you mean that neocons and republicans are the ones practicing fascism?
No. Actually, while the Demoblicans and Republicrats are essentially identical in nearly every way, the Demoblicans are actually closer to the ideals of fascism. Recall that the most famous fascist group of all was the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers’ Party). Does that really sound like something a Republicrat would support? The principles of fascism are pretty much in line with what that party name suggests. “Obamacare” is probably the most-fascist piece of major legislation in recent American history. It combines socialized healthcare (a major fascist plank) with the exact type of economic principles (private ownership, but effective government control… Read more »
The main republican platform is built around xenophobia, homophobia, militarism, hyper nationalism and government and corporation working hand in hand. Sounds very similar to fascism
Xenophobia and homophobia are not defining characteristics of fascism. Fascism is heavily into scapegoating, and some historical fascist regimes have used such groups as scapegoats, but that does not mean hatred of those groups is defining of fascism. Scapegoatism is alive and well, these days.
Militarism, hypter nationalism, and corporatism are, indeed, defining characteristics of fascism. Both the Demoblicans and the Republicrats are heavily invested in all three. As noted, the crowning achievement of the current administration is a textbook-fascist piece of corporate cronyism.
But where is the militarism? the hyper-nationalism? and aren’t we forgetting that the individual mandate is a largely republican idea because they didn’t want a single payer plan.
Where? Right there. Seriously, about the only thing good one can say about Dubya is, “well, at least he was not as bloodthirsty as Obama.”
Not like it’s just restricted to those two. To which party did the President who set up concentration camps on US soil belong? How about using weapons of mass destruction on German and Japanese cities, expressly targetting civilian populations?
In terms of actualy warmongering and hyper-nationalism, the Demoblicans and Republicrats are essentially equal.
Trying to link liberals to the ideals of the Nazis simply based on the words used in the name of the political party is typical of pig-ignorant assclowns like you. One of the most far right parties in Russia is called the Liberal Democratic Party. They are to the right of Atilla the Hun and share much more in common with the reactionary and paranoid tea baggers, which illustrates just how asinine and uninformed your comment is. Socialized healthcare is a characteristic of every single industrialized Western nation, and has nothing to do with “fascism.” Dipshits like you seem to… Read more »
See, the problem with your diatribe, is that I did not simply try and link anyone to the Nazis based upon the name. I used that as an /example/ of how truly ridiculous his claim that I must have meant the Republicans, actually was.
The “link” is not the name, but rather the fact that they espouse and adhere to the principles of fascism.
Could you even list off the principles of fascism for the class?
Bullshit.
MaineShark: “(National Socialist German Workers’ Party). Does that really sound like something a Republicrat would support?”
Your entire comment was about linking a political ethos to the words in the name of a fucking political party rather than any kind of political ethos.
Facile and asinine.
Apparently, you don’t possess basic reading comprehension skills. You picked two sentences, and ignored the rest of the post.
So, like I asked above, could you even list off the principles of fascism for the class?
Seriously, you’re asking me to go to Wikipedia and cut and paste the definition of Fascism? That doesn’t make the fact that assholes like you who constantly throw the word around at anyone who doesn’t agree with you any less annoying. If you want to single out Obamacare as being Fascist then you have to explain how it supports a violent, authoritarian State (and, no, compelling people to pay taxes or carry insurance does not make a State authoritarian). You have to explain how it furthers nationalistic goals (all it does is improve overall healthcare access, but increasing the pool… Read more »
No, I was asking you to actually list off the principles of fascism. Wikipedia is not a primary source, so I was specifically /not/ asking you to cut-and-paste anything from Wikipedia. I was asking for an actual demonstration of what the term means. Which, apparently, you are unable to provide, because you are ignorant of actual political philosophy, instead just throwing terms around (while falsely accusing others of doing the same thing). (face_palm) I just went through a number of principles by asking you to explain how exactly Obamacare qualifies as fascist policy, which apparently you can’t. How is Obamacare an expression of violent authoritarianism? How is does it further radical nationalist and/or imperialist goals? How does demonstrate the indisputable power of the state? How is it opposed to egalitarianism? The only reason it rewards private industry is because conservative Republicans have effectively allowed corporations and wealthy individuals to purchase our government, so even there the analogy to a fascist state where corporations are rewarded, but ultimately controlled, by the state is… Read more »
You listed a bunch of things, but that does not mean that those constitute an exhaustive list of the principles of fascism.
You want to pick and choose certain traits that are sometimes associated with fascism, and claim that anything which does not adhere to that specific list is not fascist. But that’s so patently dishonest that no one with a functioning brain would be fooled.
List the defining principles of fascism, and /then/ we could discuss how Obamacare adheres some, all, or none of them. Can’t do it without the list that you refuse (are unable) to provide.
Banning books isn’t fascism, Sharkie? Do tell.
No, banning books is censorship, not fascism. Fascism is a particular political ideology. Some fascists ban books, but that does not mean anyone who wants to ban books is a fascist (for another example, Hitler was a vegetarian – that does not make every vegetarian a fascist).
But I’m not sure how your comment relates to the discussion. Who was seeking to ban books? No one, as far as I can tell. Seems like a total non sequitor.
My comments always seem like that to you, Sharkie, because I don’t engage in cultspeak.
As far as I can recall, this is the first time that I’ve said one of your comments was a non sequitor. So, how could they “always seem like that?” Such a claim makes no sense.
Seriously, though, no one has suggested that books be banned, so aside from failing basic logic (a square is a rectangle; a rectangle isn’t necessarily a square), your comment appears to have nothing to do with the discussion. Someone objected to his daughter being /forced/ to read a particular book. He did not say that no one else should be /allowed/ to read it.
“Someone” staged a Big Public Arrest Show for the purpose of media whoring.
Your opinion of my comments is just devastating, though. I think the FSP should let you do all their PR, since your style is so warm and welcoming.
It’s really that hard for you to admit that you were 100% wrong, isn’t it? Must be hard to have such a fragile ego.
How difficult would it actually be to act like an adult (for once, at least) and say, “you know what, I just looked back at the article, and he did not actually call for any books to be banned?”
Oh, honey lamb, it’s so hard for you to be confronted with the fact that you’re in favor of censorship! That you object to a book you’ve never read! Papa Baer is a member of the FSP cult, isn’t he? And this was all a big publicity show. You don’t want to talk about that though, do you? As usual, it’s always a big semantics wankfest with the grim, humorless, (censorship loving) cultists! Ever wonder why members of the liberty movement are so certain of victory? This is why. You’re the best the Statists can supply, and you would lose an argument with a stuffed iguana. You actually imagine that you can just say the polar opposite of the truth, and that folks with functioning brains will be fooled.
No, I never wonder why members of the liberty movement are certain of victory. I realized from the beginning that this is a cult full of delusional individuals that believe all manner of foolishness. You write silly phrases on sidewalks with chalk, and consider that a revolutionary act – and consider yourselves to have “functioning” brains. The cult is becoming fodder for mockery around the world – and you think you’re winning something. Dream on, Sharkie.
You can’t even maintain consistency in a single post, can you? You state that you’ve never wondered, then proceed to give a list of the /reasons/ why you’ve wondered.
My youngest, at three years old, could utterly shred you in a debate. Granted, she has the intellectual capacity of a seven- or eight-year-old. But still, that’s rather sad, don’t you think?
Oh, I see the problem!! You aren’t able to understand anything you read! You interpret my reasons for finding your cult delusional as “wondering.” Perhaps you should consult your 3 year old’s dictionary for a look at the difference between “reason” and “wonder.” Then maybe she can explain them to you, since she’s such a fabulous intellect, and you, quite clearly, are not. The guy is kinda rude and belligerent, and I’m guessing it wasn’t his first angry outburst of the meeting. He’s also probably a bit naive for thinking that his daughter doesn’t already know or hasn’t been exposed to the sexually explicit details that supposedly make this book so controversial. The bigger question is why police need to be at a school board meeting in the first place?
Also, thank God there are Catholic schools where I can send my kids and sidestep all this insanity.
I still feel sorry for my science teacher in Catholic school. The absurdity drove her insane.
You know they do teach science in Catholic school, right Pab? Evolution and everything.
Leave him alone. I bet he doesn’t even know a Catholic Priest created the big bang theory.
I’m a creationist and I at least take the time to understand what other believe before I make a statement. Ignorance and stupidity FTW!
if you actually understood science, you would understand it is not a belief, and you certainly would not be a creationist. lol. the first and most important tenant of science is that you not BELIEVE anything. science does not create evidence for beliefs. it runs experiments to form models, which can be accepted for practical purposes until a more accurate model is discovered. there are no beliefs in science.
A solid argument from the man who doesn’t know how to capitalize at the beginning of a sentence. Also, it’s tenet, not tenant. A tenant is someone who rents a property from a landlord. A tenet is an aspect of a belief or principle. LOL
Clearly you’re someone worth listening to. Excited for prom?
Eh? As Mike notes, Catholic schools teach evolution. I certainly have my issues with Catholicism, but that’s not one of them – the church took no official position on evolution for quite a while (actually waiting for the evidence to be collected and examined), and when it did take a position, the position was that God used the process of evolution in order to create life, and that the only unique thing that was created by direct intervention was the soul. Since science doesn’t care /why/ evolution started, and since science does not accept or deny the “soul,” there’s no… Read more »

I’m perfectly sane, Jared. In fact, I had twelve years of the best education in my state. I’d hope everyone could have a similar experience.
But yeah, the public schools are just as good. Everyone loves extreme bureaucracy and Common Core. Keep on telling yourself that.

ah, catholic schools, where you can send your kids to be buttraped by priests and scarred for life! ah, the good old days. my favorite.
The numbers seem to indicate that that sort of abuse is (and always has been) more likely to happen in public schools. But yeah, go ahead, keep believing everything Bill Maher tells you. That’s a smart way to live life.
Please have a clue what you’re talking about before opening your mouth. You just make yourself look like a moron.
This demonstrates a new found freedom in New Hampshire. A gain for freedom. Because the parents were so upset and of the widespread

At age 14, the daughter should be learning about issues such as consent.
That is a parents decision. Not the schools. The issue isnt that the book was read. The issue is that is was read without the parents consent which until the child is 18 the parents are responsible for their decisions and choices. She should learn about consent, far earlier than that.
Things like, “if someone assaults you, you should report it immediately, and it will be addressed.” Or, “even if you wait to report it, the responsible adults around you will care for you, and still address the situation.”
Not, “if you don’t report it immediately, your only recourse is to execute your attacker, personally, and then you’ll go to prison.” That teaches nearly every wrong lesson possible.

No, the objection is not that she was “taught” about sex. This was not simply information that was presented in a factual manner. The objection was that the passage is erotic, not informative, and features rape without an immediate and unequivocal condemnation.
Guess what, life is x-rated and has some unsightly characteristics. The more you try to hind that from your offspring the bigger shock it will be for them when they realize that. That’s the purpose of YA literature to help the transition of childhood into adulthood, there is no magic moment when a kid becomes an adult like what most parents think.
Actually, the purpose of YA literature is to make money for the authors. Anyway, that “transition” is accomplished by teaching them things. Not just handing them a box of porn and walking away. The lesson in this book is apparently that rape should not be reported, and the only solution is to execute the rapist after the fact, and then go to jail for doing it. The slime has infiltrated every system from the supreme court on down to school boards. New Mexico and Missouri have stood up. We all have to stand up. They’ve tried hard to divided and conquer but they will not succeed!
Here’s the e-mail for the superintendent Kent Hemingway. Send him a message and let him know what you think about it.

Complaining won’t do shit. Voting for an end to the corruption won’t do shit. If you want results, take arms, organise, and overthrow the government, at both the state and federal levels.
Couldn’t agree more. We need more Bundys.

Am I wrong or is pedaling pornography business as usual for this School Board and does Sue Ellen participate in the proceeds?
Next thing you know itll be fed to elementary kids. And theyll be in puberty anyways from all the rbgh in milk these days. Senior project pornhub.com sign a waiver in case they happen upon some kiddie porn. Which is the final goal. Sexualizing children. Kinda pervy perv. Justsayin
Here is the phone number to the police department. Please feel free to call them and tell them what a gutless piece of Shiit Gilford Police Lt. James Leach is for arresting him.

I’m as liberal as they come and that is just a disgustingly graphic description of semi-rape. How about we leave the more risque stuff for those who want to go on to college, or those who want to read porn novels as a hobby.
Another clear dose of reality that government isn’t accountable to the people that fund it.
Your day will come soon pigs
all I can say is WOW !!! Totally Messed up !!!!! This is alarming ..

Total Violation of FIRST AMMEMENET RIGHTS!!!!
I find it amazing glassy-eyed indifferent looks on the people’s faces around him from the WMUR footage. What’s happened to us as citizenry that values our liberties? Does this man not have a right to petition his government?

Folks you have a 2nd amendment for just this reason. Stop complaining and use it.
we learnt that the school does not care about parents or their families..my 5 yearold daughter was pulled from kindergarten and detained in a room for three hours without windows with a lone male counselor and stripped searched for her own safety after she went to school with a one inch scratch on her face that did not bleed and was gone the next day..while in there we were not notified and were detained when we arrived at the school at the end of the day to pick her up. We were met by a social worker who needed to… Read more »
Where do you live? I can’t believe things like this still happen. I’d like to do some research on this if you’d give me some sources.
isn’t this considered child abuse
this LEO is basically arresting this man for thought crime . . .
Wake-up citizens of Keene, N.H. !! Bunch of fucking, chicken-shits!! I served this country in the USMC to put an end to tyranny and defend the United States Constitution and defend against foreign and domestic terrors… we are able! Take back our freedoms. Stand your ground!!
First, the two minute rule for citizens to speak is almost as bad as the parent getting arrested. A real school adult leader should have simply asked him to stand up and again state his name, and allowed him to speak. The polite and wise thing to do would have been to let him vent and thank him for his input and maybe even asked him to serve on a committee to study the situation. As a reporter with more than 50 years’ experience, I’ve covered a lot of government meetings and seen various approaches at throttling citizen dissent. We’re… Read more »
Why was the cop in the school at the meeting from the beginning anyway ? F/N police state is going down.
He wasn’t resisting..believe me, if I was in that position and I was resisting, he’d know it.
You know, the fascinating part is that they had high school students there as part of a “civics lesson”. Apparently, the lesson they learned was “you had better shut up when a bureaucrat tells you to shut up or a man dressed in a costume with a shiny badge will throw you in a cage”. It’s sick that a parent can’t voice his opinion about a book at a school board meeting. Is THIS freedom? Is THIS the “land of the free, home of the brave”? I submit that there is little freedom, even less justice and only a handful… Read more »
If this school had any kind of self respect and respect for the children and the parents, it would listen to the concerned parents that already called them and removed the book from the curriculum. Not doing so makes this meeting a farce, no wonder parents were irritated. The arrest is obviously a point the parent wanted to make since he repeatedly asked to be arrested. All I can say to this school is own-up to your mistake and remove the book already.
He wasn’t even asking that they remove the book. All he asked was that it not be /mandatory/ reading. It’s not like we’re talking about some incredibly important piece of literature that is fundamental to a complete education. We’re talking about a pulp book that gets by on sensationalism, rather than quality. You could throw a dart at the young-adult section of a bookstore and find another book that could replace it easily. There’s no reason for something like that to be mandatory reading. He wasn’t asking that the book be banned. He was just asking that it not be… Read more »
June 17th @ 8am, don’t be late folks, that’s gunna be one heck of a court room drama. Btw, be sure to send your comments, and esp your notice that Mr Baer was not resisitng arrest to the Gilford Police dept. Their comment line is full, (surprise?) so just speak to anyone @ 603 527 4737 Tell them the whole world is watching…..
WHY DO YOU THINK THAT SHE HAD A COP THERE ??SHE’S RAMMING THE BOOK DOWN THE PEOPLE’S ASSES. AND WETTING HER PANTS FROM IT !!!
One of the main problems with our schools is that we do not listen to the parents!!!! The parents need to take control of the schools and not give in to this BS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP8RB7UZHKI
sounds like a bunch of whiny puritanical bible thumpers who haven’t realised it is 2014.
And, you sound like someone who thinks they have the right to force their liberal crap on 14 year old children, and, if the parents don’t like it give them trumped up charges and include resisting arrest. May it happen to you, too, and, the sooner the better.
This has nothing to do with being liberal. I’m liberal and I disapprove of distributing pornographic material to underage kids. These were just teachers who made a stupid decision. Stop politicizing everything.
You say “liberal crap” like that’s a bad thing or something. This is not porn its literature. Of course you probably refer to evolution as “blasphemy” and being gay “a ticket straight to hell”
No, “literature” is something like “The Catcher In The Rye,” whereas this book is just pulp crap with no redeeming value. There are plenty of books that contain controversial, but thought-provoking themes, which are important parts of a well-rounded education. To Kill a Mockingbird Lord Of The Flies One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest The Diary of Anne Frank 1984 Of Mice And Men Fahrenheit 451 The Outsiders The Stranger Siddhartha Slaughterhouse Five Just a few off the top of my head (been a while since high school). Some contain far more controversial content than “Ninteen Minutes,” but they are… Read more »
