State of NH Convicts Man for Speaking to Bureaucrat

Below is a playlist of raw videos from today’s Legal Land adventures:

Monday, June 16th 2014 – 10am – Today there was a trial in Keene at the new courthouse. “The State of New Hampshire” charged political activist Graham Colson with “Contempt of Court” for speaking to a Meter Maid while doing his activism.

The activism, called “Robin Hooding”, involves walking around feeding the expired parking meters. He says it saves people from tickets.

But Meter Maid Alan Givetz had a big problem with the Robin Hooders. So much of a problem that he quit over the situation. He called the police on Graham for speaking to him, and the court defended the unconstitutional ban on free speech.

Graham was represented by friend and fellow Robin Hood activist Garret Ean. Ean blogs at http://FreeKeene.com and also runs his own blog at http://FreeConcord.org

Graham was sentenced to 60 days in jail, plus 5 months “suspended” for 2 years. That means he has to go to jail for about 2 months, but the other 5 months he doesn’t have to spend in jail (so long as he doesn’t get arrested for the next 2 years). All of this for speaking to a member of the badged class?

Article 10 of the New Hampshire Constitution reads, “[Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.”

These activists are engaging in peaceful resistance to the state. And they need your support. Reinforce these gutsy activists by moving to the Shire! Learn more at http://ShireSociety.com

He got two months in jail, PLUS five months suspended? I thought if the sentence was over six months, that he had to have a jury trial?

Alexander Vucelic

Honestly he should Take The full 7 Month sentance 1) it is very very expensive to Keep prisioners 2) 2 years of probatiion is designed to catch him again and Run him through their Kafkaesqe Cycle of Oppression.

Best to Take The full 7 Months now and be liberated

andrew

Nice try, but the cop can arrest you for obstruction if you pull the crap of taking an inordinate amount of time to read a ticket. You guys all talk a big game, until shit gets real and then you’re a bunch of whining pussies.

Alexander Vucelic

About a year ago, I got a ticket for a non-crime by a Motorcycle Cop. The entire process took about 45 minutes.

It was a absolute pleasure watching the thug sweat in the broiling sun – apparently they must keep their helmets on at all times.

He was furious but couldn’t do anything about it. His stats for that day ruined – his supervisor going to chew out his sorry a**

In hindsight I could have dragged it out to an hour.

Andrew

I would place you under arrest for Obstruction of Justice and Disorderly Conduct. After that, your paperwork would mysteriously dissapear and your bail hearing would be delayed. Eventually you would make bail and be released, but it would end up costing you more time and money.

That stated … I think you’re absolutely lying.

Yet another cop who relishes breaking the law

Phil McD

Has Burke ever, even once, ruled in favor of free keeners? If so how many times out of how many opportunities? I live over 1000 miles away and can’t stand the man.

Sean McGriffin

60 days? Big fucking whoop. Derrick acts like Colson was given a death sentence for three squares and a cot in Cheshire Counties equivalent to Club Fed.

Roger Wilson

No kidding, right? I’ll bet you wish you could have done only 60 days! Hey Graham: take it from Sean: it could be worse. He knows!

andrew

Hey Roger: did you learn how to be juvenile and stupid, or does it just come naturally?

PabloKOh

60 days of seeing of seeing no sun, touching no family and choosing no meals. Burke is a scumbag. I don’t know why anyone in town would sell him a gallon of gas or a dozen eggs.

andrew

I guess next time he won’t fuck with a public employee, then.

PabloKOh

Screw the public employees. I can’t wait for their pension funds to implode. $4,500,000,000 underfunded. Let them eat dog food. Parasites.

andrew

Derrick is a tool who makes up facts and creates controversy where none exists.

legerde

I thought the robin hood case upheld that banning people from central square violated their freedom of speech. Burke ordered this restraining order. There is no chance Burke will allow questioning the validity of his decision. But Burke should have an understanding of the robin hood case. Shouldn’t that strip Burke of qualified immunity?

… The chalk assaulter walks free….. Wtf

andrew

We the people of New Hampshire will continue to throw tools like you in jail for breaking our laws. If you dont like these laws, then convince the majority of voters and their representatives in government to modify them.

Hang on, who am I kidding: The majority find people like you insufferable and of no consequence, therefore your opinions are irrelevant. Now run along and go draw some pretty chalk drawings like a good little boy.
