NH News Update for Liberty Activists

  • The New Hampshire Court System is closing again as they can’t afford their operations.
  • A leader of a robbery ring based out of the Derry area is headed to jail:
“Springer told Judge Tina Nadeau that the plan — to bail Ricker’s then-boyfriend out of jail — turned out to be short lived.  Instead, the group pawned stolen items and spent their proceeds on alcohol and drugs, Springer said.
  • A man in Dover is off to prison for having a naughty plant in his apartment.
  • The drug war produced violence continues in Rochester as a masked man who was believed to be holding weapon busted into a pharmacy and demanded Oxycontin.
  • A Gonic man is facing some serious time for treating his body as if it belonged to him by injecting some dangerous chemicals into it.  Unfortunately he did this in front of some small children.  If this sick man had an alternative place to go to get the drug fix that he needs, say one where the goal was to get him to use less drugs, I don’t think that he would have to commit crime to afford his habit and/or inject in front of children.
  • The Rochester Police Commission wants a freedom crackdown on glass pipes being sold in their community.
Commissioner Al Bemis said the DARE program explains the dangers of drug use, but when display cases are prominently positioned at the front of stores, it sends mixed messages.
Actually, Al, the DARE program is a complete waste of time and money (so says the Government Accountability Office) and if anything is responsible for the so called “gateway” effect, it is.
Also— it encourages children to rat on their parents to the police.  I’m quite sure Stalin and Hitler used a similar tactic.

NH Police Warning Cocaine Users

The police in New Hampshire are warning that cocaine is being cut with a dangerous animal drug.

A New Hampshire police department is warning that a drug used to treat animals is being added to cocaine and sending users of the illegal drug to the hospital.

During liquor prohibition this happened quite frequently.  Because alcohol is now a legal drug it is largely sold by professional companies who strive to make their products the absolute safest.  If Corona all the sudden had a reputation that it was killing people, you’d better believe that they’d be going out of business in short order.

Let’s face reality.  People in this world are going to choose to use cocaine.  I disagree with using cocaine and would attempt to talk someone out of making such a choice, but if they insist, I want them to be able to receive it from a professional source, one who is motivated to create a product that is not likely to cause their customer death.  So long as the drug war continues the chances of that are slim to none.

Like telling a kid sex is wrong and not to do it, telling people drugs are bad and not to use them will continue to be ineffective.

Summer = Suspicionless Checkpoints in New Hampshire

And here they come.

A government suspicion-less checkpoints is coming to Hudson, New Hampshire this weekend!

*clicks heels*

It will run from 9 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday, and again at 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.

Anyone interested in protesting, filming, repeatedly passing through, or some other thing to peacefully oppose such police-statish methods?

( don’t forget to have this playing in your mind while thinking about law enforcement behaving this way. )

Keene PD: Brad’s Blog Was Right

Story here.

Rivera alleged Henion initially asked her grandfather for money to support her drug habit. Brigham wouldn’t give her the money and that is when she allegedly hatched the scheme with Dawson, Laronge, and possibly a few other people, Rivera said.

You know…  I was able to write my blog and come to this conclusion before Eli was in the newspaper admitting these things.

I know Eli knows that drug prohibition is causing these problems.  Lets see if he and his co-workers have the courage to do something about it and actually make the community of Keene safer.

This would require advocating change.

AP: Drug War Is A Failure

Ask any liberty activist their opinion of the drug war and they will tell you what I have been focusing my Free Keene blogging around: The “Drug War” is a disaster and it is causing crime everywhere.

In this breaking article the Associated Press is reporting what many of us in the liberty movement have been yelling for years.

Just a few years later, a young Barack Obama was one of those young users, a teenager smoking pot and trying “a little blow when you could afford it,” as he wrote in “Dreams From My Father.” When asked during his campaign if he had inhaled the pot, he replied: “That was the point.”

So why persist with costly programs that don’t work?

Who knows.  Someone ask the NH Police Chief’s Association which shows up to shoot down every effort activists make here in New Hampshire to get rid of this horrible mess.
