Man Pays Ransom with Pennies, Demonstrates Disdain for Legitimized Theft

This post was originally published to copblock.org on Nov. 26th, 2012. It’s shared here both due to the actions depicted (and the ideas that motivated the actions) and because those who created the video have spent time in the ‘shire.

Taxes are theft. Think about it – do you want to hand over coin that you earned to a stranger simply because such an action is demanded?

Much like the ransom note that you might receive from someone wearing a badge, it’s not due to a sense of gratefulness that you might acquiesce but because of the implicit threat. The “or else” ramifications.

It was that rationale that caused North Carolina resident and Carolinas Cop Block founder Clyde Voluntaryist to pay the property tax fee associated with his vehicle. But instead of just cutting a check for the total amount, he first stopped by his bank, where he picked-up the total – in pennies.

If you find yourself with a ransom note for possessing a plant someone claims is “illicit” or for a vehicle “infraction” or any number of other victimless actions, consider sitting the time. By doing so, you won’t help to finance your local organized criminal gang, and in fact, will lessen their resources.

If you can’t sit the time, offer to donate the same amount to a charity or cause that you support.

If you’re told that’s not permissible, and you decide to pay the bribe to prevent future harassment, doing so with pennies is a low-risk way to demonstrate that you do not support their institution based on coercion.

Just imagine if 10% of ransom notes were paid as such…

If taxation without consent is not robbery, then any band of robbers have only to declare themselves a government, and all their robberies are legalized.

Days Before Trial, Ademo Visited by Michael Valentine

Ademo today was visited by Michael Valentine, the individual who, on Monday at Hillsborough County Superior Court will argue that he should spend 21-years caged because he pointed-out the assault of 17-yr-old Frank Harrington by Manchester PD employee Darren Murphy.

Background: CopBlock.org/FreeAdemo

A few things Ademo noted:

Valentine plans to submit into evidence Admeo’s radio interview with Girard at Large captured in-studio on December 6th of last year due to this statement from Ademo:

Though I didn’t state to the individuals I was audio and video recording them I did state to them that my name is Ademo Freeman from CopBlock.org and I’m seeking comment off of Officer Murphy’s actions in the cafeteria.”

Ademo’s Jury Selection Done, Trial Next Monday

MANCHESTER, NH – Yesterday Ademo Freeman was shackled and transported from Valley Street Jail, where he’s been since July 11th, to Hillsborough County Superior Court, where he participated in his jury selection process per the three counts of wiretapping prosecutor Michael Valentine (603-627-5605) has levied against him for the dastardly act of being a journalist and following-up on misdeeds done by public official Darren Murphy.

Though Ademo, donning his blue jail jumpsuit, wasn’t able to speak with those present, he did turn and give a big smile. He’s in good spirits.

After less than an hour, 15 individuals had been screened as jurors or alternates. Ademo’s trial is slated to begin next Monday, August 13th. Supporters will be outside at 8am and the “circus”, as Ademo’s called it, will begin at 9am.

Prior to the activity inside the courtroom, a couple dozen friends of Ademo friends gathered outside both as a show of support and to hand information about jury nullification to potential jurors. While some coldly passed without acknowledging the presence of a friendly human being, many were receptive. Or at least they knew they might have a lot of down-time and realized that having some literature to read wouldn’t be all-bad.
