Thanks to the folks at NHJury.com for putting together an awesome trifold for sharing information about Jury Nullification with NH jurors! Previous to this trifold, we had been using a flier from the Fully Informed Jury Association. FIJA’s flier had great information and was certainly the inspiration for this new NH-based trifold, which in my opinion, is very impressive. FK blogger Meg McLain did the graphics work (you can hire her to make your projects look amazing) and Rich Angell and Bob Constantine provided the text. Free Keene sponsored the print run.
Feel free to pick some up next time you’re in Keene, or better yet, just grab the files and send them to your favorite printer:

The best way to distribute these is at your local superior court as potential jurors arrive for juror selection day. Contact your local court for details on when this happens in your area.

In order to facilitate more discussion of activism and dramatically reduce trolling, the moderators of the Free Keene forum have elected to create a restricted zone where trolls, called “dissenters” on the forum, are allowed to post.
The restricted are is called “Non-Constructive Criticism, Chronic Dissent, and Trolling”. Dissent is allowed, across the whole forum, but people whose sole purpose is to disrupt productive, activism-oriented conversations will find themselves restricted to the specified troll-zone.
The Free Keene forum is a place to create an activist community, share ideas, plan for events, and other positive things. If it’s been a while since you’ve visited, drop in again. If you don’t have an account anymore, it’s probably due to the fact that you never posted. Now there is a mandatory introduction policy to have posting access to the full forum, but the forum can be read without ever logging in.
Please join us in the Free Keene forum. It’s a great communication method that doesn’t rely on a third party provider, like Facebook.

Kellie at Free Manch has posted a positive piece, and more posts have followed since. Drop in on them and see what’s happening. Free Manch has been re-added to “The Shire” tab at the top of this site, in the hopes that they continue unabated this time.

I’ve just heard from college activist friends that Ron Paul will be speaking at Keene State College next Monday evening (the 21st), at 4:30 in the Lantern Room Mabel Brown Room of the LP Young Student Center.
I hope local liberty activists will be out in force, making lots of friends.
This is also the perfect opportunity for Manchesterites to visit Keene to negotiate the terms of their surrender. (Government officials involved in the war on drugs are likewise invited to surrender.)
Plus, LGBT activist Charlene Strong will be speaking at Keene’s United Church of Christ Keene State College this Friday at 6pm.

For years now, we’ve offered a 24/7 feed of a scanner tuned to the Keene Police Department channel. Considering the scanner needed for this costs hundreds of dollars (it has to be able to decode KPD’s APCO-25 digital transmissions ) this public service from Free Keene puts the KPD scanner audio in the hands of the average person – right where it belongs.
You’ve always been able to listen to the feed on your favorite media player on your computer and also via media players on your smartphone, but now it’s even easier thanks to the Tunein.com application. (more…)

Free Keene welcomes Garret Ean, the founder of FreeConcord.org as our newest blogger! Free Concord is a great site to visit to get more liberty-oriented opinion and news, focusing on the Concord area as well as Manchester. Since Free Keene has been around longer and has a larger audience, I thought Garret would make a good blogger here so he can cross-post content to FK and draw more visitors to his blog. Here’s his bio from the Bloggers page:
Garret has been involved in political action since high school, but it wasn’t until college that he came to consider himself a liberty activist. In college, he ran for state representative twice, while pursuing a criminology degree. In late 2010, he started FreeConcord.org to cover news of interest to liberty activists in the greater Concord area. You may catch him in front of the state house with chalk and camera in hand, making futile attempts to objectively cover liberty-flavored events as he participates in them. The underlying theme of his activism is propagating the revolutionary notion that human beings own themselves.
