Reasons to Move to Keene Updated for 2010!

Over the last two years since the launch of the Reasons to Move to Keene page here at Free Keene, the list has expanded by over 30%! We started with 100 reasons in 2008, expanded to 111 in 2009, and now have over 130! Last year a bunch of new activism was added to the list and this year in addition to new activism, an entire section has been added to list regular social events you can attend and some of the community involvement of activists in the area. If you spot a mistake or think of something we should add, please post to this thread on the Free Keene Forum.

Please visit Move.FreeKeene.com to see the new 130+ Reasons to Move to Keene, and share the link with anyone who you think should make the move to New Hampshire!

420 at 4:20 on 4/20 – State Capitol Smokeout

FlyerConcord-area liberty activist Neal Connor announces the State Capitol Smokeout in a post to the Free Keene Forum:

“Would you smoke a bowl for freedom?”

After years spent engaging the political process, fighting not just for legalization but simply for decriminalization and medical marijuana, it should be apparent to all that New Hampshire politicians have no intention of listening to reason.

Instead, we must demonstrate to all that we will not be intimidated by their words on paper. As peaceful people we refuse to submit to their violent rule of law. As Penn Jillette said, “Fighting for freedom is a losing battle. Taking liberty is what real Americans do.”

Let us take our liberty. Join us on the lawn of the State Capitol building as we celebrate our rights as free people! Bring some friends, some bud, and a revolutionary spirit.

Invite your friends to our Facebook event!

Date: Tuesday, April 20, 2010
Time: 4:20 PM
Place: State House lawn (107 N. Main St., Concord)

Cannabis Culture’s Feature Article on Keene’s 420 Celebrations!

CCThanks to Jodie and Marc Emery and the rest of the great crew of Cannabis Culture for publishing this awesome feature article all about Keene’s cannabis freedom movement, starting with Andrew Carroll’s arrest last year and going through the Nashua crackdowns. Not only that, but they allowed JJ from the Free Keene Press to write the piece! They included activists’ photos as well as videos from OTN and Anarchy in Your Head. It’s an amazing piece that is going to help put Free Keene on the cannabis activism map!

If you found this website via Cannabis Culture, please take a look around – there’s a lot more happening here than cannabis freedom activism.

Here’s the text of the piece: (more…)
