In this invigorating episode which originally published to the world on 06 February 2014, Conan, James, and Garret discuss wordly affairs as well as the present tribulations facing the restructuring Aqua Keene Parking Force. This offering of the episode is delightfully available in full widescreen format, in contrast to the 4:3 ratio interpretations of the usual installments. In video shot this morning, Keene District Court’s Judge Edward J Burke tells Cop Block Radio‘s Eric Freerock that he’ll accept his thirty-one community service hours as certified by the Shire Free Church. (He volunteered to record hours of panels and speeches at a recent event.) However, Burke warns Freerock that one is not supposed to do community service for agencies with which one is affiliated. That makes no sense. Why wouldn’t one be able to do community service for an agency one has already supported previously?
If one has worked previously at say, the Community Kitchen, does that mean one is “affiliated” and cannot perform community service hours there? Or does “affiliated” mean that one is on a board of directors of said organization? That is not made clear during this hearing, and the community service order that courts issue to defendants says nothing about a prohibition of affiliation with an agency. Regardless, Burke accepts the hours. Case closed.
Chris Cantwell published a blog post this week in which he made the case that violent revolution is moral, possible, and practical.
To me, Cantwell’s argument comes down to: “Violent revolution is the right thing to do.” Specifically, he advocates for killing in self defense. In other words, killing police that would otherwise be killing you. He argues that peaceful resistance is fruitless because, “ideas require teeth.” He seems to assert, “Why allow our friends to be relegated to the dustbins of history for standing on principle? As long as the State can legitimately kill and cage us, we’ll never have peace or freedom!” (more…)
Last Friday I got an email from Brandon Ross, my awesome pro-bono attorney, who informed me that Michael Valentine – who works as the District Attorney for Hillsborough County – has charged me with three felony wiretapping charges. Yes, these are the exact same charges as I was previously convicted of but were overturned by the Supreme Court earlier this month.
Why is it that Keene bureaucrats seem so hell-bent on raising property taxes to such an extreme and unsustainable level? Have they simply lost touch with reality? Or are there more sinister intentions behind their meddling? Perhaps rep. Cynthia Chase’s statement, “tomake the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave,” was not only directed at free staters but also at lower income riff raff who cannot afford the tax rate.
