Julia Miranda, Your Pro-Liberty Candidate for Councilor

julia-city.jpgOn November 6th, if you are tired of the constant growth, increasing intrusiveness, and tax burden of government then you finally have a candidate worth voting for in the Keene municipal election, Ward 4. That candidate is me, Julia Miranda. So far, I am the only candidate who has signed the Small Government Pledge which says I’ll vote small government. You can see my signed pledge in full at vote.freekeene.com.

In case signing the pledge isn’t enough to prove that I’m serious about working to increase freedom, I’ll go the extra step of giving away my City Councilor paychecks. Councilors are paid $2,000 a year in $500 quarterly installments. I expect they will be taking taxes out of my check, so I will give away whatever is left. Four giveaways per year over four years means 16 taxpayers will be able to get a little bit of their money back and that I won’t be getting paid a dime to be your City Councilor!

Introducing the Pro-Liberty Voter’s Guide!

Lady LibertyElections can be depressing. Usually you are presented with a choice between Big Government Candidate A and Big Government Candidate B. In most cases it’s not even worth voting. Here at Free Keene, we want to change that. We’re going to give you a reason to show up and vote by recommending Liberty-oriented candidates who have signed the Small Government Pledge. You can find the full pledge at that link but here is the essence:

“I will vote small government. Every issue. Every time. No exceptions. No excuses.”

That’s right, Free Keene will be endorsing candidates in the 2007 Keene Municipal election! We have already found one candidate with the courage to sign the pledge. MoneyWe here at Free Keene have big plans: Running pro-Liberty city council candidates, doing outreach to spread the message of Liberty, continuing to develop and bring you Liberty-oriented media like Free Minds TV, and more. We want you to be a part of it. How? Two ways.
