Subject: Depending on the Incompetent
I am feeling frustrated tonight.
The motions which I handwrote in response to the news that the Keene Police is moving the court to grant them permission to destroy the evidence in my case were lost. I gave them to the officer on duty this morning to be photocopied and instead they were lost. I am cripped. (more…)

Subject – TV in Jail
I don’t watch TV. But when I do, I watch Free Keene TV. This comes on for half an hour once a week. Most people in here watch TV every day for hours. Tonight, I asked the group of drooping zombies if they were watching the fishing show on Animal Planet. No answer. I asked again standing below the two TV screens. No answer. So I asked the officed to please change the channel to channel 8, since it’s 7:00 PM on Monday, that’s the 30 minutes of TV I watch 30 minutes a week. About halfway into the show, one guy with a lot of seniority around here asks “whats the show on the left?”
I answer him “It’s Free Keene TV”. (more…)

Subject: Mr. Tann, Fat, Lazy Jail Guard
Mr. Tann, the guard on duty now, is particularly lazy, moreso than any other guard. His refusal to assist me with any request I make of him, even a simple phone call to the safety and security is consistently overwhelming. He is never helpful, but instead a constant source of frustration, as he meanders his fat, lumpy, body around the jail, refusing all requests for assistance by inmates. (more…)

Subject: Surprise Court
Awaken for kitchen duty. I hope I am working with Beau, Seth, and David, but sadly, I don’t think Scott is in today. =/
Day 15 5/12/12
Wow, so I was called down to work in the kitchen today and was told when I got down that my roommate would be taking my place in the kitchen today because I have court at District Court today. I had no idea. I was not expecting to go to court today. Everyone who called the court last week to learn of my impending court dates told me I had the sentencing hearing and a parking ticket trial. I went to the sentencing hearing prepared enough to get the fine of $1240 converted into community service (124 hours) and I also got the parking ticket dismissed. (more…)

Subject: being gay in Jail.
I haven’t been in the closet since freshman year of high school. I forgot how guys joke around making sex jokes of each other all the time, making fake gay voices and fake touchy feely on themselves and their friends. I missed it a litte, fitting in with that humor. I still it funny, but for some reaons, when people know I’m gay they don’t joke like that around me. Maybe they’re afraid they’ll hurt my feelings if they say those things in front of me. Now that I’m in on the jokes again, I feel the same sting I felt freshmen year of high school. Like every second it’s on the tip of my tongue: “Don’t you know I’m gay?” But I haven’t uttered it yet. I stayed silent, tounge tied, holding it back. I’m atraid of how I’ll be treated differently, how I wont be a part of the jokes anymore, and more horrifyingly, how the jokes will change. (more…)

5/20/12 Day 14
All the world’s a stage and “Mr. Embry” plays the part of the insensitive jail guard very well today. I am feeling more isolated than ever. Beau read news of the Occupy Movement from the Keene Sentinel and some guys upstairs told me that our friends were outside with signs waving at the jail. Even though they gave me permission to enter their room and look out the window, “Mr. Embry” watched me and said I wasn’t allowed to do that. They were just 10 feet out of reach, but the man with the weapons and the empire flag on his shoulder said NO. (more…)
