Dear Leader to Visit New Hampshire

It was announced earlier from on high that none other than the United States government president himself, Barack Obama, will be gracing the state of New Hampshire with his presence. A campaign event at an undisclosed location in Manchester on Thursday (Oct 18) will be the most high’s second visit Shireside in two months. Beyond that, little is revealed about it.

Joe Biden and Barack Obama are perhaps the two people on Earth who yield the power to shut down major american cities around them, as their seemingly endless entourage of vehicles secures the ground before which they tread. In recent years, the security theatre has become increasingly more inconveniencing for ordinary civilians, as they try to proceed about their day. A recent visit by the federal vice president to Concord saw all streets around the capitol closed to even pedestrian traffic, and the outer surrounding streets closed to motor vehicles as well. The performance was orchestrated so that several dozen of Biden’s supporters could hear him speak on the barricaded state house lawn. Granted, Obama likely draws more of a crowd, but if I felt so insecure that I needed thirty police units in front of and behind me anywhere I go in the United States, I’d probably do the people a favor and not close their neighborhoods down so that I can campaign to continue ruling them.

Who else is so incogitant to announce that they’ll be in a city on a particular day with less than a week’s notice, but not disclose the location? A supremely flexible schedule and/or last minute planning are perchance veiled under the header of national security.

Pushy Bureaucrat Crashes Chalk the Police Day

I have gotten so used to having my camera groped at by authoritative busybodies that I am beginning to feel as though I should question my relative comfort with it. The first article featured on this blog was about a police officer who couldn’t keep his hands off of my phone when it was acting as an audio streaming device. Since then, I’ve had a previous camera clutched so firmly that it automatically powered off, in an escapade that traveled the blogosphere during the first annual lemonade freedom day. My Canon Vixia’s design is much more rugged and durable than the previous Nikon Coolpix I used to utilize for Free Concord videos. And I appreciate the upgraded zoom capabilities and high definition 16:9 widescreen frame. Today, as I celebrated International Chalk the Police day with others, my camera withstained a push from a Keene city parks and recreation director Andrew Bohannon, as he fumbled to conceal his identity from chalkers. After activists had covered most of the central square park in liberty oriented slogans and quotes, a man driving around the rotary yelled from his vehicle at the chalkers to stop. Myself and others waved and invited the person to join us for Chalk the Police day. Moments later, I noticed a man with a phone who had walked up onto the square and begun speaking with people, phone in hand, and an identification swinging from his neck. (more…)

DerrickJ Ends the Fed DC 2012

Protesters burn bills in front of the Fed as helplessly outnumbered security observes.

From DerrickJ’s blog at LiveFreeOrDance.com:

Today I went with the Adam Vs The Man crew to Washington, D.C. (Mordor). I went in order to take video of a rally. Adam Kokesh went to speak on a megaphone and help MC the event. He led a march down from the Treasury Building to the Federal Reserve, where about 60 people marched and chanted, “END THE FED, END THE DEBT, END THE WARS.” Upon arrival at the Federal Reserve building, activists lined up to face the building along its front and symbolically turned their backs in an “about face.” Some activists burned dollar bills in front of the building as security guards watched, hopelessly outnumbered by a crowd of peaceful people armed to the teeth with video cameras.

Here’s some video of a speech I gave about living freer by moving to the Shire today (From Fr33manTV):

Here’s all of the raw video I shot that day (from the Activist Raw Video Youtube Channel):

HUGE NEWS: Jury Nullifies Felony in Cannabis Grower’s Trial!

Pot LeafIn a developing story that has hit Reason.com, an NH jury has acquitted a man facing a felony for growing cannabis! It’s our first real-life case of jury nullification here in NH and the jury nullification law hasn’t even gone into effect yet. Kudos to the judge for reading a fair and easy-to-understand jury instruction about nullifying as an option! Also, it probably helped that a free stater was on the jury!

If you are an self-described anarchist or agorist and you are not registered to vote, you need to remedy that now. Being on the voter’s rolls means you could be chosen as a juror, which means that even if you never actually cast a vote in an election, you could cast a vote on a jury that could stop someone’s life from being ruined. Here is the proof. Is there still any doubt the Free State Project is working? If you haven’t made the move, what are you waiting for?

Here’s the story from Reason, which includes the judge’s instruction to the jury:

A few months ago, New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch signed a bill declaring that “in all criminal proceedings the court shall permit the defense to inform the jury of its right to judge the facts and the application of the law in relation to the facts in controversy.” Although the new law does not take effect until next January, a case decided yesterday in Belknap County illustrates the importance of the nullification power it recognizes. A jury unanimously acquitted Doug Darrell, a 59-year-old Rastafarian charged with marijuana cultivation, after his lawyer, Mark Sisti, argued that a conviction would be unjust in light of the fact that Darrell was growing cannabis for his own religious and medicinal use. More remarkably, Judge James O’Neill instructed the jury that “even if you find that the State has proven each and every element of the offense charged beyond a reasonable doubt, you may still find the defendant not guilty if you have a conscientious feeling that a not guilty verdict would be a fair result in this case.” (more…)

Criminal Gang Robs Alcohol from Liberty Lovefest in Worcester, MA

Keeniacs were in Worcester, MA this past weekend for the 2nd “Liberty Lovefest” (a concert/party event) when the local uniformed criminal gang barged in and stole all the event’s alcohol. I guess the gang had themselves a nice party with all the beer and liquor they robbed from the peaceful folks at the Lovefest who were just minding their own business and having a little fun. Fortunately the gang members did not kidnap anyone – they just took the alcohol. That probably means they went straight out to have their own party, since they didn’t have to process anyone who they might have arrested.

Here’s raw video from the incident, courtesy FreetheAgora:

I love it when Beau, the main cameraman, says to them, “This is theft!” Call it like it is!
