Despite having been officially formed only one month ago, the NH Liberty Party has announced two candidates that will be appearing on ballots in Keene and Cheshire County. Candidates for the NH Liberty Party are principled in their advocacy for liberty and must prove it by signing the membership form, which lays out the party’s unchangeable platform.

These are not write-in candidates. Both will be on the ballot and could win with your vote. Please visit their individual campaign pages, linked below, to learn more about them:

NH Supreme Court Attempting To Change Rules Before Losing Unilateral Rule Making Authority

Today the New Hampshire Supreme Court released an 111-page order proposing changes to the rules of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch. The proposal comes immediately before the voters of New Hampshire will have the opportunity to pass CACR26.

CACR26 is an amendment to the New Hampshire Constitution that will allow the New Hampshire General Court greater oversight authority of the Judicial Branch rule making process.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog you’re aware that journalist Jason Talley faced criminal charges because the NH Judicial Branch made “rules” restricting press freedom rights. The rules were enacted immediately after a judge was caught on camera conveying objectively false information to law enforcement to have someone arrested.

The proposal allows public comment about the rule changes until November 21st. Make your voice heard (and part of the official record) by emailing the NH Supreme Court at rulescomment@courts.state.nh.us.

Please get out to vote to pass CACR26 in November!!

(An opposing opinion.)

Candidate For Congress Kuster Steals Man’s Camera

I’m no fan of republicans or democrats, but this lady is out of control. One of the candidates for congress, Ann Kuster, has stolen the video camera of a political activist for a republican candidate.

This sort of behavior does not bode well for the future of changing the wiretapping law in NH.

This seems like an appropriate time to remind you that there is another choice for congress in NH, Hardy Macia, the Libertarian. Here he is encountering the red-and-blue zombie horde: (more…)

Gary Johnson Zombie Ad Going Viral!

Gary JohnsonFree Keene’s JJ Schlessinger is the director of the new commercial for Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson in which Johnson encounters a group of zombies. The spot premiered here on Free Keene earlier today and has now exploded online with coverage at Comedy Central, Ebaum’s World, Reason.com, Gather.com, and The Hill.

Who knows how many more will hit by morning.

Congrats, JJ! You can hire him for your video here.

World Premiere: Gary Johnson meets the Zombies!

After a campaign stop in New Hampshire on Sept 19th, Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson took time to shoot an ad with the NH activists on the steps of the State House in Concord that featured Red and Blue zombies.
In the ad Johnson walks down the stairs and shouts to the zombies.  “We’re not mindless zombies in this country! We’re not mindless!” he declares.  The ad is now out, please spread it far and wide!

Yes, I’m in the video, as is Free Concord’s Garret Ean, and many other NH liberty activists. Disappointed by the small number of zombies?… Encourage more liberty activists (or you?) to move to NH, and we’ll have more folks available for quick activism like this. (From concept to production was 1 week with a tiny tiny budget!) Kudos to JJ for his awesome directing and editing, and Bill, Ed, Dale, and Garret for camera work, Tara for makeup effects, and the many folks who showed up to help!

Zombie ads are nothing new in the 2012 political cycle. Former NH gubernatorial candidate Jackie Cilley made national political news during her unsuccessful run at the corner office earlier this year with her “pledge zombie” ad. The ad was good, but she still lost the Democratic nomination which was captured by Maggie Hassan during the recent primary. But the concept was too good for NH activists to go of, because really, the zombies are everywhere.
