Last evening, the finance subcommittee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Keene 
central committee heard numerous proposals related to city functions, before finishing the meeting with a symposium on proposed changes to the notoriously contested parking system. Following discussions on a new Cheshire TV channel and lacking airport business operations, the parking policies attracted the most attention from the civilian audience, with numerous individuals speaking in favor of modesty in fee hikes. Other specific points addressed were the egregious mandatory minimums proposed, in which meters would not register any time until at least twenty-five cents worth of time is purchased. Another idea tossed about was extending the hours of enforcement forward by two into the evening on weekdays, while removing one hour of enforcement from the morning. The Keene Sentinel’s Kyle Jarvis reported on the exchange of parking ideas in a front-page feature in today’s print edition. A candlelight vigil held two months following the deaths of five ducks at Nashua’s Crown Plaza Hotel was attended by approximately 15 mourners and celebrants of the lives of the deceased waterfowl. Broadcast media was standing by with local newspaper correspondents snapping photos and jotting notes, as others videotaped the ceremony from multiple angles. The following day, original stories appeared in the Nashua Telegraph and Manchester’s Union Leader, with a reprint of the Telegraph story appearing in the Keene Sentinel. Each article highlighted the eulogies delivered during the public ceremony, and described the scene as participants sang Amazing Grace and marched to place candles near the scene of the bloodshed. On Sunday at 11am, a candlight vigil will be held at the scene of the slaughter of five ducks and the 
serious injuring of many more after state representative David Campbell drunkenly careened into the flock of waterfowl on December 23. The event scheduled for the two-month anniversary of the deaths will feature a moment of silence, presentations from the audience, a reminder of the dangers of combining alcohol consumption and driving, and an update on the situation. Since the incident dubbed #duckgate, Nashua police commissioner Tom Pappas, who assisted David Campbell in evading police interaction until the following morning, has resigned from his post amid calls for both he and Campbell to do so. Though he issued an apology and pled guilty to hunting ducks out of season, David Campbell has ignored all calls for his resignation. In the aftermath of a shocking video released February 8 portraying a tow truck driver threatening a Robin Hooder, videojournalist Dave Ridley has begun producing a series of videos covering the encounter and the responses that it has generated. Some detractors of Robin Hood and the Merry People shamelessly took to the internet to express solidarity with the rage-filled tow operator and expressed joy at the threats of violence aimed at videographer Graham Colson. Graham has since posted a blog trying to refocus the issue on opposing the use of threats and harassment. Unrelated tow companies in other states who share the same name as the employer of the driver in the original video have reportedly been receiving improperly directed complaints.
