SamFirst, big thanks to Armadillo’s Burritos in Keene for graciously providing the power for the last two Free Keene Fests. To reward them for their help, we’re going to have a dinner party in celebration of Sam’s release from jail at their wonderful establishment. Besides some great Mexican food, they also sell beer, so the party is on from 6-8pm Wed, 6/10. See you there!

Trial Scheduled for Sam: 6/15, 1:30pm ET

SamBIG NEWS:

Mark your calendar. A trial has been scheduled for Sam on 6/15 at 1:30pm in Keene District Court. (2nd Floor, 3 Washington St., Keene, NH 03431)

Word is Ivy sent notice to the city manager and council as well as some other bureaucrats to let them know they will be held liable under some federal code about deprivation of rights (USC 1983) for every day they have been complicit in holding Sam. A couple of days later, a trial has been magically scheduled.

Sam is expected to call tonight’s Free Talk Live.

Also, if you were witness to Sam’s arrest and willing to testify at trial, please post to the trial discussion thread.

Submit your own Writ of Habeas Corpus for Sam

Ivy and Marc Stevens have worked up a writ that you can fill out and file to help get Sam out of jail. The more that are filed, the more likely the superior court judge will look seriously at Sam’s case. Here are her instructions from the discussion thread on the FK Forum:

Download it. Put your name in the “your name” spots. Make sure the dates throughout it are correct (especially at the bottom in the signature line, the certificate of service, and the affidavit). And file them at Superior Court right there in Keene on Monday.

Medical Pot Bill Passes Senate – Action Item

PotA little good news in a sea of tyranny, from MPP:

The New Hampshire Senate just voted 14-10 in favor of HB 648, the medical marijuana bill. New Hampshire is now very close to becoming the 14th state to stop arresting patients for using medical marijuana with their doctors’ recommendations.

Gov. John Lynch (D) has expressed concerns about the bill and it is vital that he hear that Granite Staters support protecting patients.

If you’d like to call Lynch’s office and tell the secretary to ask him to support the medical marijuana bill, the number is 271-2121.
