Here is an important message from our friends at the Marijuana Policy Project:
On Monday, March 12, the House Health, Human Services, and Elderly Affairs Committee heard testimony on HB 774, a bill that would allow sick and dying patients to use medical marijuana if their doctor recommends it. The committee could vote on the bill as early as Tuesday!
Please take a moment now to visit https://ssl.capwiz.com/mpp/issues/alert/?alertid=9505521 and send a brief letter to the members of the committee. It will only take a moment with our automated system. It’s imperative that they hear from Granite Staters in support of HB 774 right away. (more…)

Ten people turned out to our first Free Keene meeting this afternoon, including the organizer of The New Hampshire Coalition for Common Sense Marijuana Policy (NH Common Sense for short). As usual, I was impressed with the enthusiasm and creativity the attendees expressed.
The topics of discussion began with the current situation on HB92, a bill designed to eliminate marijuana from the criminal drug laws as I understand it. If you have not done so already, please sign the petition. Also, stay tuned for a monthly newsletter and action alerts coming soon from NH Common Sense.
A brainstorming session for the upcoming 2007 municipal elections in Keene followed, including the discussion of what issues the people of Keene care about the most, and activating and encouraging Keene State students to get out and vote.
I encourage fellow liberty lovers and Keene-iacs in the area to attend in March!

At Free Keene’s first meeting Matthew Simon from NHCommonsense.org will be joining us to discuss the latest on Marijuana decriminalization in NH. We’ll also be discussing the city council’s invocation of “eminent domain”. Free Keene’s 2007 campaign will also be on the table for discussion. That’s this Sunday, details here.
