The Cheshire County Candidates Forum was held from 2-4pm on October 16, 2012 in the Keene Public Library’s Ruth Huntress Auditorium. Twenty-seven candidates were invited, nine attended. Candidates answered questions from the moderator and the audience. A strawpoll was conducted at the end of the forum.
Surprise winners include Libertarians John Babiarz for Governor, Hardy Macia for Congress, Ian Freeman for State Rep. Cheshire 16 and Darryl W. Perry for Register of Deeds.
The initial results incorrectly listed write-in candidates for Executive Council (Richard A. Foote) & State Senate (Eli Rivera) as receiving 4 votes, each actually received 1 write-in vote.

While 35 States currently require a declaration of intent from those wishing to be write-in candidates, New Hampshire is among the states without write-in declarations. Even though all write-in votes are considered valid, they are not always counted. (more…)

Every previous year, the participants (all talk show hosts) in the Rumble were all either from the left or right. Never before had there been someone representing the ideas of liberty. I thought you might like to see it.

As I began reading the letter, I immediately noticed a major error. One that was not noticed by the editors of the Sentinel. (more…)
Thank you for your comments regarding Iran. I appreciate hearing from you.
The Iranian regime has taken advantage of the international community’s willingness to repeatedly return to the negotiating table in order to buy time and advance its nuclear program. As the failed P5+1 negotiations have demonstrated, the Iranian regime has little desire to compromise and appears committed to pursuing a nuclear weapons capability. (more…)
The Sentinel ran two recent LTE’s regarding the Registry of Deeds. One letter told how the office was filthy and needed to be cleaned. The other letter was written by the current Register of Deeds, claiming the budget had been cut to the point that “there was nothing left to cut.” (more…)
