LOT: Just Another Weekend in Keene

Liberty On Tour‘s Pete Eyre reports in from Keene:

KEENE, NH – Ademo and I have been in Keene now for a couple of months. Among other things, we’ve made some changes to LibertyOnTour.com & CopBlock.org (and have more planned), done a lot of brainstorming and strategic thinking, Ademo is now blogging on FreeKeene.com, I helped start PrisonersForLiberty.com, we do “Don’t Take the Plea” outreach every Tuesday morning (other activists have Mon, Wed. and soon Thur. covered) and Free Keene TV is getting off the ground (props to JJ!).

Sentinel Reports on 420 Celebration’s Return!

CannabisHere’s a report on the return of the 4:20 celebrations appearing in today’s Keene Sentinel, featuring Free Keene’s Ademo!

While St. Patrick’s Day enthusiasts participated in the “wearing of the green” in downtown Keene Thursday afternoon, a small group of activists celebrated a different type of green at Central Square.

Smoking pipes and rolled blunts, activists used marijuana as a way to express “self-ownership,” according to one participant.

This group of nearly 20 was the first of this year to hold a rally supporting marijuana legalization, but similar demonstrations have been a fixture in Central Square since 2009.

“I wish the government would stay out of the issue forever and allow people the right to choose their own medication,” said Ademo M. Freeman, who moved to Keene in January.

Allowing medicinal marijuana, a measure that was passed by the N.H. House in a 221-96 vote Wednesday, is just one step, according to Freeman. (more…)

Raw Video of Ademo & Pete’s Kidnapping at the Greenfield Jail

The video footage was FINALLY retrieved from Greenfield PD today, well, 50% of it due to a technical difficulty with Ademo’s camera. Here’s the raw footage from Pete’s camera including their interaction with the bureaucrats in the jail and their arrest outside. For full detail on this incident, visit Copblock.org/Greenfield.
Part 1/2: Inside the jail, threatened by the guards over recording video:

Part 2/2: Greenfield PD’s Todd M. Dodge shows up to threaten Ademo and Pete further, then arrests them: (more…)

Capuzzo’s Letters From Jail #7 & 8

CapuzzoCapuzzo still sits in a MA jail and writes us the following letters. You can send him mail online via mail-to-jail. Here are past Capuzzo posts.

Letter #7 from late February:

The eight month mark is closing in. In some ways, the time has flown by. At the same time, time has seemed to stand at a still. In either case, NH still seems a long ways away. I know the cases here in MA will be done soon, but after eight months of being dicked around by the court system, it just feels endless.

I often wonder if they realize that they are toying with a man’s life. I don’t think they understand just how this kind of shit affects a person mentally, especially after long periods of time. It’s not easy, for me at least, to integrate back into a functioning society after a time. I’ve even been at the point where I didn’t want to go home because it has become natural feeling to be inside the walls.

I won’t let that happen this time, though. I refuse to let them win this time. This is not my nature anymore. I bring this up because I’ve noticed that lately, every time I’m on the edge of giving up, someone pounds it into my head that I can’t give up. Whether it’s a letter from a friend, my mom, or the one person I’ve met here that I call a friend, they always seem to catch me at the right time and not even know it. (more…)
