When I find out, either in advance of, or when I know that an activist is going to be incarcerated for any significant amount of time, I think it’s good to send that activist a letter. Therefore, I decided to augment a project widely known amongst the liberty activist community as Mail-to-Jail. I do what I call “Games to Jail”. My project isn’t as involved as, and really just piggybacks on Mail-To-Jail by sending games to some of the super-activists whom I know that have been kidnapped by the state, and who could probably use a little entertainment to help pass the time while they are in a cage. Since I would often be at a loss for words as to what to write, and because I know that games could be reusable and even good for social interaction with other inmates – It was an easy decision for me to start to put together a games packet. I sent my first game packet to liberty journalist videographer Dave Ridley, and he later gave my idea rave reviews, so I decided to make my game packet bigger, include more games, and make it easier to print. There are many “free to print” games that are either open source or public domain that are posted on free game and educational websites. In fact, there are also some tools you can use to generate your own crossword puzzles and word games. So, my game kit involved to include many new games including several puzzles, mazes, chess, checkers, a deck of cards… etc.. All printed on standard computer paper so as to be either cut or torn into the appropriate pieces.
When I sent out my next batch of games, I was very surprised that the game set I sent to Momma Ally came BACK (more…)
Following that this afternoon she also appeared on Pittsburg’s KDKA with Mike Pintek (.mp3 archive), and Orlando’s WEUS with Ed Tyll (.mp3 archive).
Meg did a great job addressing the issue of TSA invasiveness, as well as promoting the Free State Project, Liberty on Tour, and Free Keene! She’s been through a brutal week with all of this happening and still has yet to return home. She’s heading to an airport in Florida now and hopefully she’ll have better luck this time. After she gets back to NH she’ll have a little more time to breathe, though NECN TV will be here in Keene tomorrow afternoon to interview her. Thanks for being a great spokesperson for liberty, Meg!
In the controversy surrounding the TSA intimidating Free Keene blogger Meg McLain and removing her from the Ft. Lauderdale airport, someone’s lying, and we know who has a history of lying: The TSA. Yesterday they released some security footage (Video 1, Video 2) of the security area where Meg had her encounter with the TSA agents. The release of the footage was an attempt to make Meg look like she was telling lies, but the evidence points to TSA being the liars. What kind of security footage doesn’t have a timecode? There is no way to tell what happened between the two videos, and the TSA would obviously like us to believe they are contiguous. Regardless, the footage raises many questions about what Meg claimed in our interview with her on Free Talk Live, of which the YouTube video has received about half-a-million hits in a day’s time. Was she actually handcuffed? Did they rip up the ticket? Is the TSA showing us all the footage? These questions and more were asked and answered on 11/11’s Free Talk Live in the third hour, which I have uploaded to YouTube. Thanks to Meg for taking an hour out of her busy schedule to talk with us again to clarify what really happened. Here’s the interview:
