AnarchoJesse Arrested for Illegal Gardening!

This morning, Free Keene blogger AnarchoJesse was arrested for “Excavating without a permit” as he was working on creating a community garden at Keene’s Central Square park. Activists were on-scene with video cameras. Look for a more detailed Ryder Report later, but here is the initial live footage of him tilling the land prior to the police arriving and his subsequent arrest. He was booked and released with a complaint demanding he “answer” it by May 12th. It sounds like he’ll be taking this to trial and refusing to pay any fines.

Join Jason and Pete, former crashers-in-chief at Bureaucrash, for the Motorhome Diaries! Starting from their new home in Keene this weekend they will be traveling across North America and interacting with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and viewpoints at college campuses, homes, businesses and organizations that are united by one thing: increasing individual freedom and responsibility and decreasing the scope of government.

They’ll also be promoting the idea that liberty activists should move to NH as part of the Free State Project, and specifically Keene!

Good luck, guys and thanks for everything you do! Be sure to follow their progress on MotorhomeDiaries.com!

What Battlestar Galactica means for the liberty movement and you.

BSGI had originally intended this as a forum post, but thought the message was a little more deserving of a wider audience, so I’d like to share my thoughts on the Battlestar Galactica finale and what it means for the liberty movement, and you specifically. Below the post, I’m including the final scene of the series finale of SciFi’s re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica, for those who haven’t seen it. BSG is a show that in over four seasons told the story of the near extinction of mankind at the hands of the machines they created, the Cylons. In the finale, an alliance of human-friendly Cylons and humans makes a stand against the vindictive anti-human Cylons and one Cylon’s choice has drastic consequences. Here are my reflections on what Battlestar Galactica meant to me, and they do include a spoiler: (more…)

Dozens Attend FSP Recruitment Award Ceremony for Judge Burke

During this week’s Social Sundays, (attended by a record 32 liberty activists) a couple dozen people set out across Central Sq. to the front of the city building for an award ceremony honoring Judge Edward Burke of the Keene District Court. Activists decided to give the first ever Free State Project Recruitment Award to Burke because according to videographer Lauren Canario, “[Burke] has recruited more liberty-loving people to the Free State Project in a shorter time than ever recorded. His public outburst of rage at Ian Freeman for taking too long to sit followed by a 93 day jail sentence for having a couch in his yard convinced at least 8 people to fight tyranny sooner rather than later.”

After a speech from inspired new mover Yadra Voat, the award was accepted by Free Keene Blogger AnarchoJesse in Burke’s absence. See both the speech and acceptance comments in this video:
