In response to the recent arrest and jailing of activist Michael “Big Mike” Tiner, who has been charged with assaulting a police officer, we have launched the Citizens Resisting the Assault of Police Officers (CRAP) medical aid campaign.

Here are some things you can do to help:

  1. Write a letter to the Manchester Police.

Include your ‘medical aid’ (cartoon band-aid) with a letter explaining its purpose, and your concern over Mike’s arrest and continued jail stay. Send ‘medical aid’ letters to:

    Manchester Police
    351 Chestnut St.
    Manchester, NH 03101

We also encourage you to call and ask about Mike, to let the police and jailers know we are still concerned about the treatment and continued detention of a peaceful man.

    Manchester Police: (603) 668-8711
Hillsborough County Department of Corrections: (603) 627-5620

  2. Contact your local media outlets.

Write, email, or call your local media (new stations, newspapers, radio stations, indie media) to bring attention to Mike’s situation and the CRAP campaign. (note: sending a band-aid with written letters may bring more attention to the story)

  3. Write to Michael “Big Mike” Tiner to show your support.

Civil disobedience is not an easy form of activism; however, it is important that those who are brave enough to do it know they have support. Writing letters to Mike in jail has been made easy by our friends at Mail-to-Jail (click the link to type a letter to Mike, which will be printed and sent to the jail, free of charge).

If you would rather write your own letter/postcard, you can send them to:

    Michael Tiner
    CCN: 46733
    Hillsborough County D.O.C.
    445 Willow Street
    Manchester, NH 03103

Mike gave that cop a boo-boo on his ego.

  3. Paul on Tue, 2nd Feb 2010 3:17 am

    Lol

I hope that officer pulls through. I am amazed by the courage of the members of the thin blue line more every day. Why, lint may have actually been removed from his jacket by the wind caused by the Evil Mike Tiner.

Hopefully this brave cop will be able to recover fully, and will be able to soon join is colleagues in abusing innocent citizens, or beating and tazing children, which the volume of recent news stories suggest is becoming a popular activity.

This is one of the most creative campaigns I have ever seen…. “She has no mouth, because she speaks from the heart” … absolutely hilarious.

I think I might have some “Avatar: The Last Airbender” band-aids. I bet he’ll like those. They’re “boy” band-aids. :)

They’ll be perfect for him to give to his “special friend” . . .

    Awesome!

Who was that weirdo C.R.A.P. spokesman with the pedophile beard?

  10. Ian on Tue, 2nd Feb 2010 1:07 pm

    Go Meg!! Very entertaining.

Also, Luthor appears to be quite good in front of the camera. Hopefully he’ll do some more video work.

They have their own beard style now?? Some sort of rule or something?
Nicely done, very clever, and the send-in campaign will really get them going,as they have to open all the mail, even if they know it is just a band-aid. —bil

Very Appropriate for the situation. Hopefully a couple hundred bandaids and calls will get the point across.

I’m getting rather concerned about Mike’s welfare. Has anyone inquired if a neutral third party like the Red Cross or other aid group can assess his condition?

  19. Brad on Wed, 3rd Feb 2010 9:44 am

I am hoping you fine folks will make COOL-AID, because this is what the recipients of CRAP are apparently drinking at the station.

This story will be reposted to several large, topic-appropriate Internet groups. This sort of bashing on police must stop being tolerated in a civil society! What’s next – Insults about uniform color-schemes or the make of car police drive! Oh, the humanity! We shall avenge this fallen officer!

  21. Dave Geurts on Wed, 3rd Feb 2010 2:04 pm

This is disgusting, why would you assault a police office that is just doing his/her job. I’m surprised he was able to cuff this drug addict after receiving a dislocated shoulder. Im sending more then band aids , some prescription strength ibuprofen is on its way. Oh wait, I dont want to supply our hero with a gateway drug… he may move onto other things like liquid NyQuil.

  22. SamIam on Wed, 3rd Feb 2010 5:32 pm

Anybody want to post it to the cop forums? LOL

  23. bil on Wed, 3rd Feb 2010 11:55 pm

Already sent the link to several policemen I know in Az.They were as pissed as I am.Believe it or not there are many in law enforcement that are and have been ,concerned about the direction things have been going. —bil

  25. bil on Thu, 4th Feb 2010 12:52 pm

Any word on if this is happening–and results? I hope the officer is recovering from the severe case of wind-burn. —bil
