Activists Save People from Parking Tickets (Robin Hooding)
Filed under: Charity, Civil Disobedience, Outreach, Robin Hood, Video
In this video Derrick and I (Rapsher) discuss and partake in Robin Hooding. One of our motivating factors is, like most people in the community, we’ve been compromised into paying various fees associated with driving. Robin Hooding is one way we believe we can neutralize our karma for paying a criminal agency. So, we’re not personally getting our money back, but we are preventing others in the community from having their money stolen from them by the city with parking tickets. We encourage you to do this in your city, or just come to Keene NH and join in the fun here.

I started this project in mid-March, 2011 and it has taken a lot of effort to get the show to this point. The all volunteer crew and cast has come together for many practice sessions as each individual learns the particular role they are in. Many of the people involved, including myself, have never done such a thing as create and run an independent TV news show. Cheshire TV and its staff has been a great help in getting the show up to speed.
As the show progresses I hope to see more and more interaction with the community at large and a broader focus. At the moment there are a great deal of stories that feature activism due to recent events and interactions. While activist footage and events make for great news, I don’t want to focus solely on that.
There is a great deal more that I’d like to see done with the show and we will keep increasing the level of quality, expanding the coverage and investigating more topics with each episode. If you would like to be involved or if you have some news tips or comments, please feel free to email me at tv@freekeene.com.
Free Keene TV
Over the past several weeks I have been working to create a local TV news show on Cheshire TV, the Keene based cable-access station. Several activists and myself have been working to learn all the roles and responsibilities required to put on a quality programing. Many of the key roles are filled though I am open to more people coming on board as well as finding alternates so the principles can have a week off at times.
The vision I have for Free Keene TV is one of a polished and professional news broadcast. The show ought to be flexible and capable of being altered to spend more time on important topics with news being the priority. The show ought to also offer a variety of topics and cover a wide swath of community concerns.
Currently, I am working on creating polished graphics and audio components to increase the production quality. We have spent considerable time working on getting the lighting to meet a certain standard as well. The show is scripted entirely including the anchor reading from a teleprompter, the only exception being interviews and freestyle punditry.
I have more openings for all types of roles and if you are interesting in helping either in front of or behind the camera, send me a message through the forum, facebook or shoot me an email at jjschless @ yahoo.com.
Free State Project Nascar Video
The past week or so supporters of the Free State Project (FSP) have been voting (yes, we do vote – voluntarily) for the FSP design, by Adam Sloan, in hopes that the car would one day be seen by millions on the Nascar’s national stage. Just yesterday the FSP car took the lead in votes, though this is only one of five steps to winning the contest, which means we still have work to do.
So if you have a few moments today (tomorrow and/or the next day), please, vote and/or share this video. Thanks again to all those working hard to make this possible and to Pete Eyre for making this catchy video.
