While conducting “Don’t Take the Plea Deal” outreach (which is where activists hand people attending court a flyer) this morning Pete was approached by the district attorney (DA) for Keene. I witnessed this encounter but my camera was still in my jacket so I have no video. The conversation was simple, the DA approached Pete and said, “I’m going to be dropping all your charges.” Pete said he appreciated that and the DA went upstairs to court.

I’m glad to see the city isn’t about to waste more time and money on a hat, yet I feel they still need to compensate Pete for the 4 days he lost in jail. Though I doubt they will. I guess it’s also safe to say I was correct when I told Burke off and stated he could end the injustice by watching a video. Too bad he didn’t take my advice and instead cost taxpayers more money to house two individuals for 20 days with no reason, other than being offended.
