Jason Talley, managing director of the Civil Disobedience Evolution Fund, reports on another arrest in the government’s war on hats – this time the heroic Evan Pierce, a.k.a. the Emperor of Free Grafton:
I’m told that Evan Pierce will be heading to Cheshire County soon, if not now. He was caged for criminal “contempt of court” today in Grafton Superior Court by Judge Bornstein during the trial of the State vs Robert Constantine. Evan was wearing a paper hat after the judge told Ademo Freeman to take his knit cap off. When Bornstein said something like “you with the hat, come up here” Ademo remained seated while Evan stood before the judge. Evan had earlier created the paper hat as an act of solidarity with Ademo who was exercising his right to keep clothes on his body.
The next time we saw him was after Bob Constantine’s trial concluded for the day at approx 3:30PM. Employees of Grafton County decided to accessorize Evan’s look with shiny silver chains around his feet and arms that connect, slowing Evan’s roll. Always looking on the bring side, Evan noticed that with a live microphone he’d be able to share some of Weeda Claus’s Chronic Christmas Carols leading a courtroom full of Shire Activists in “Hands off Weeda Claus.” (more…)
Pete Eyre from Liberty on Tour reports from the first day of the jury trial of Bob Constantine, an NH native accused of growing some cannabis plants and facing up to seven years in prison for it:
Lots happened today – it was the most-active “courtroom” day I’ve been to. The below is a very rough overview based on notes I jotted down. Check the links for other writes-ups and related content. We’ll likely chop up a video(s) in the near future (since we’ll likely collect more video over the next couple of days the trial is expected to last).
NORTH HAVERHILL, NH – Running on about 90-minutes of sleep Ademo and I jumped in Ian Freeman’s car this morning and, along with our bud Amish Paul, drove almost two hours to the northern edge of Grafton County and joined over 20 others to support Bob Constantine – a peaceful individual who is being threatened with three to seven years in a cage for allegedly having on his property some plants strangers deem “illicit.” Rather than take a plea deal, he’s standing for what he knows is right – there is no victim. He did nothing wrong.
The Nashua Telegraph reports on the heroic Catherine Bleish suing Nashua PD for wrongful arrest when she was kidnapped by the police at the 420 celebration there over a year ago. She was found not guilty of the charges they hit her with at a bench trial late last year.
I’ve mentioned on the radio show a few times about sending the IRS and other tax agencies affidavits. The affidavits state we are terrified of the IRS and only file returns and report financial transactions out of terror of being attacked, put in jail and having all our property stolen. I’m encouraging everyone, if you file or report to the IRS and other tax agencies, send an affidavit of fear with the return. Let them know you are only complying out of a sense of terror, not because you think there is a legitimate obligation. You may comply, but you will not conceal the threats and coercion they used to get compliance. We will not help them make it look legitimate.
There are several reasons for this, and you’ll see it’s another tool to help bring about a voluntary society, building the free market.
It makes the bureaucrats aware of the violence. I’m convinced, from years of personal experience with tax agents and other bureaucrats, the violent nature of government is very uncomfortable to them. (more…)

On July 24th I was thrown to the ground and arrested after questioning Keene District Court bailiff Pete Macy’s demand to remove my hat. Rather than behave like a civil person and have a conversation about his request, Macy and his accomplices, Keene Police Department employees James Cemeralis and Matt Griffen resorted to force.
While I was still handcuffed on the ground Pete Macy was ordered to submit an incident report by his supervisor Lance Walton. After two months of phone calls to Walton and Walton’s boss, Jason Jordanhazy (who never returned my calls) and physically stopping by Keene city hall multiple times, I finally received the report in the mail. It was chock-full of inaccuracies – Macy purposefully submitted a skewed version of the truth to protect himself.
Fortunately my friends had captured their unjust actions on video and shared it online at CopBlock.org, FreePete.org and elsewhere. Thanks largely to the outrage many felt and expressed about the actions of the government employees, my charges were later dismissed. Yet no one has been held accountable nor even apologized (I see Cemeralis almost weekly when doing “Don’t Take the Plea” outreach and have asked him numerous times to meet to discuss what happened and to apologize. Though he expresses interest in meeting he has yet to follow through).
But is it really too surprising that Macy lied on his report? What fear of repercussions does he face? Macy, like other government actors, may claim to “serve” or “protect” you but we all know in reality they are not accountable to you or I. They claim the right to steal from us (taxes) and if we question their actions or inaction’s we face the threat of or actual use of force.
Ask yourself – if given the choice, would you voluntarily choose to hire such liars and thugs? What would happen if you behaved in such a way? If you lied to your boss? If you attacked, kidnapped and held hostage a customer?
