Preserve Freedom of Choice in New Hampshire: Manchester Mask Mandate Puts Residents at Risk

Yesterday scores of people gathered outside of City Hall in Manchester, New Hampshire to voice their support for retaining freedom of choice with regard to masks. Some city alderman were scheduled to vote on a mandate that would require residents and visitors to wear face coverings at all times, regardless of their efficacy, or pay $1,000.00 for non-compliance. Allegedly, the decision was a split vote 7-7, with the mayor being the deciding vote, so the council decided to postpone the vote until next month.

The event, titled “Mask Mandates: Absurd, Slavish, and Destructive to Mankind” was organized on Facebook by State Senate candidate Carla Gericke with only 24 hours notice. The name is a nod to New Hampshire’s Tenth Amendment. Attendees held signs, distributed literature to passers-by, and addressed the crowd with a megaphone. The overall theme of the event was that health and medical decisions are a personal choice and should not be mandated by government agents. Similar events have taken place in Plymouth and Portsmouth, where local bureaucrats are considering similar mandates and fines.

Yesterday, agents in Concord, NH mandated that face coverings be worn by all people in most businesses or face fines — a move that the Liberty Defense Fund of New Hampshire says it will challenge in court. As more well-intentioned bureaucrats jump on the mask mandate bandwagon, they recklessly invite endless lawsuits and legal challenges for which their residents must pay. It is not enough to infringe on the people’s rights. To add insult to injury, they also make residents and business owners pay for the lawsuits to defend the infringement, win or lose.

The continuation of ignorance continues. Medical decisions maybe a personal decision but not when the safety of a community is at hand. You can clearly see what happened in the southern states when they eased restrictions and now covid-19 cases are increasing to epidemic proportions. Not only does that affect those states but it affects all the states as the virus migrates north. If a personal choice comes with the possibility of serious repercussions, Then it is no longer a personal choice. You do not have the right to put my family, friends, and community into danger just because of… Read more »

Hey Jumping Jacks are you familiar with the story of Chicken Little? Check it out. Also the Boy who Cried Wolf can be of some interest.

Jacks saw the pic on another page of the fried chicken, which was meant to state a racist remark has not been deleted. That is sad.

“The continuation of ignorance continues. Medical decisions maybe a personal decision but not when the safety of a community is at hand.” The continuation of ignorance, huh Jacks? Safety too? Wow. That’s super compelling. And I’m not just saying that because you’re a doctoral candidate. Anyway, we’re roughly 170 days into the 15 days that were originally pitched to “flatten the curve,” and it turns out even Nancy Pelosi doesn’t believe that horseshit. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pelosi-san-francisco-hair-salon-owner-calls-it-slap-in-the-face Notice how she’s traipsing around in a shut down salon (during a lockdown no less) in a black cape and wet hair with no face mask… Read more »

Well munchki… err I mean Jumping Jacks! … does deserve some credit. At least he isn’t just regurgitating everything the mainstream media is saying today. Now he’s regurgitating what the mainstream media was saying a few months ago. That is a step in the right direction isn’t it? And yes we do love you Jacks. This silent treatment you’re giving us won’t go on forever will it? Come on I know you’re itching to tell me to educate myself. You know that is just the kind of motivation I need. No rush Jumping Jacks… I know you’re still fuming about… Read more »

I don’t know about any of that, Intrigare. As you’ve noted before, Jacks really really wants a government that rules over him with an iron fist. These lockdowns and mask mandates have extended around him a controlled environment where he feels safer than ever before. I don’t think he ever wants that feeling to go away. Don’t credit him. Pity him. And pity us. Because it’s voters like him that have helped elevate the Nancy Pelosis and Joyce Craigs of the world into having so much power over us in the first place.

Intrigare

Ah I see. Then what Jacks really needs is someone to coddle him into realizing it’s safe to venture out of his government imposed oppression zone.

Come ‘ere Jacks. I’ll even wear an iron fist since you like those 🙂

Lol. Sassy!

I followed the link to the Concord mandate and saw that one of the people quoted by WMUR, Jayme Simons, was quoted as saying, “it’s a small thing to ask….” (a mask mandate) . This is an example of appearing concerned but failing to see the gun in her own hand. They are not “ASKING” ! All government edicts are demands, ultimately backed up by the threat of death for noncompliance. Jayme Simons is either ignorant, a forgivable circumstance, or evil or both. I am asking her to say what she really means. “Wear a mask, because I/we say so,… Read more »

I am another one of those ignorant little people syndrome hicks.

Geez, Bob. Don’t you think it’s mighty nice of them that they’re first giving us a chance to obey before they whip out the riot batons and make us? Jacks says that saying no to these guys is just being immature and naïve. How can anyone argue with that kind of logic? Besides, how else can you put big ideas like mask mandates into motion without everyone’s cooperation?

Keep the Chinese submission masks out of the city.

Currently there are 40,000 people testing positive for the corona virus. To even begin to think this epidemic is more manageable the USA needs to have around 10,000 per day positive tests. Each day, a population almost two times the population of Keene. Bob C – ““Wear a mask, because I/we say so, or we will take your life” . That is one off the most ridiculous things I have ever read. To honestly believe the government is going to shoot people for not wearing a mask is beyond Disneyland thinking. To wear a mask is a small thing to… Read more »

I apologize, Currently there are 40,000 people testing positive to the corona virus everyday in America.

Jacks is more than willing to believe Ian hardly looks at this site he created. Instead Ian has turned it over to us mushroom babies.

You know Jacks, with 90% of those cases being false positives, the real number is more likely around 4,000 per day. Good news, right?

Anyway, fun fact. Did you know that so far in 2020, less than 1,000 pedestrians have been killed in traffic crashes in the United States? I’ll bet many of them weren’t wearing their masks. I’ll bet most of them were on unemployment too. But fuck them, right Jacks?

Intrigare

Now Jacks, Even the Wall Street Journal is now saying those numbers are bogus. https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/covid-19-positivity-rate-might-not-mean-what-you-think-it-does-11599211800 It is not “Disneyland thinking” to believe the government will shoot people for not wearing a mask. A homicidal maniac may believe that shooting people would be like the happiest place on earth. You’re not a homicidal maniac are you Jacks? Check out places like the Philippines where that is almost word for word what President Duterte insisted he would do to people who didn’t wear masks (that they would be shot and killed.). Do you agree with President Duterte on what must have been… Read more »

Well put, Bob C!

Bob C

Thanks Derrick. Geez Jumping Jacks, I’m not tired of wearing a mask, because I’ve chosen NOT to wear one. “It wouldn’t be safe for me to wear a mask” is all I’ve said to the “door greeters” at several large retailers before I walk in, unmasked. I don’t intend to wear a mask, even if they follow their own process on making it “legal” to force me to. I’m not aware of any legislators passing laws on masks, so far it’s only been “illegal” edicts from governors and wanna be municipal dictators or politburos. Of course either way, I won’t… Read more »

Jumping Jacks

Bob C – It’s your choice to not wear a mask. I put out the information I receive from the CDC. If you want to pay fines for being ignorant then that is your choice. The sad thing is your way can have very serious consequences not only to you but everyone around you. Encouraging others not to wear masks is childish and inappropriate. Your statements were all “I” statements. Anyone shaming others for wearing masks are uneducated fools. Did you ever stop to think that wearing masks are a significant part of the reason why NH has a low… Read more »

Its Bob C’s choice to not to wear masks? I’m so happy to see you say that Jumping Jacks.

Now maybe you can join the protestors in spreading the word to the city council and His Excellency and shout it from the mountain tops? Truth is meant to be shared Jacks.

A smallpox epidemic flared up during the Revolutionary War and continued for many years afterward. I notice George Washington imposed preventative measures on his troops (inoculations, quarantines &c.) but made no attempt to impose such on the civilian population. So it appears that the 9th Amendment right to make decisions about one’s health care–“My body, my choice”–would apply to the current plandemic. Unless they declare martial law!
