Edward Snowden to Keynote Liberty Forum 2016

The Free State Project‘s yearly hotel convention, “NH Liberty Forum” is always a great event that attracts hundreds of attendees, including lots of prospective movers. Regardless of who is speaking, the event is worth attending simply to experience the amazing liberty activist community we have here in New Hampshire. However, having great speakers certainly makes the event more attractive and the FSP is going to have a tough time topping this year’s keynote speaker – Edward Snowden.

Yes, THE Edward Snowden, whose revelations about the NSA and their spy counterpart agencies worldwide like the British GCHQ, rocked the world. Of course, he can’t come in person due to the fact that the scumbag feds will arrest him on sight, so he’ll be appearing via remote video link from Moscow.

The 2016 event is happening in Manchester at the Radisson from Feb 18th through 21st. Tickets were supposed to go up in price yesterday, but they have yet to do so, so if you want to grab the earlybird basic level ticket, they are still just under $100 at NHLibertyForum.com. See you there.

101 Reasons Film Celebrates One Year Anniversary!

One year ago this week, the excellent documentary “101 Reasons Liberty Lives in New Hampshire” was released to the world, free on YouTube. Clocking in at an hour in length, the movie makes a persuasive case as to why libertarians around the globe should be converging on New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project.

Edited by Beau Davis, who also cut the first documentary created by FSP early movers, Derrick J’s Victimless Crime Spree, 101 Reasons has racked up over 70,000 views on YouTube in its first year! To commemorate the anniversary, director Vince Perfetto has made a one-year retrospective post over on the 101 Reasons website.

Did 101 Reasons inspire you to join the FSP or move sooner? Please help celebrate by sharing it on your social media:

Continuing in Free Keene‘s tradition of giving some of New Hampshire’s best, visible activists a platform for their opinions, news, and media, I’m proud to announce our newest blogger from the Seacoast, Christopher David!

Chris has made headlines for his “Free UBER” project and delivered an excellent keynote brainstorming session at this year’s Keenevention. His energy and drive are exemplary and I hope we get lots more activists like him moving here as part of the Free State Project. Here’s his bio from our Bloggers page:

Chris is a web developer and early mover (as of 2009) for the Free State Project now living on the seacoast. He is the ‘illegal Uber driver’, arrested by Portsmouth police on felony wiretapping charges for a YouTube video showcasing effective activism. He is dedicated to ending wars and abolishing the State in our lifetime. Chris is also the founder of “Free UBER“, an activist network dedicated to defending ride-sharing worldwide.

AKPF #1 Production Relocates, New Episodes Return 11/30

It is with great enthusiasm that the production crew of the controversial AKPF #1 television announces big news for the series that shook the city of Keene’s foundation. While episodes had previously been predominantly filmed and based around the Cheshire akpf_censored1bcounty area, new episodes to begin airing on Cheshire TV November 30th will be produced in the state capitol of Concord. This production move will ensure that more globally relevant, universally reciprocal content will be infused into the program, as series director Garret Ean and his uncredited assistant producer draw from a much larger pool of content from the heart of Shire.

As copywrong fascists continue their attack on free information sharing through youtube and other censored distribution outlets, public access television remains one of the few outlets individuals have for unrestricted self-expression in both audio and video format. For this reason, the producers also are proud to announce the show’s impending arrival on the airwaves of Concord TV. A schedule for airings on the capitol area’s public access station will be released as details are squared away with representatives of the station.

Docket Roundup: Plea Deal Rejected, Trial Back on for Owners of Phat Stuff

The Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) raid on local Keene smoke shop Phat Stuff in May 2014 resulted in a criminal indictment against Phat Stuff Masked_Man_Uhaulowners Panos and Katie Eliopoulos in February 2015 for Conspiracy to Offer Drug Paraphernalia for Sale (21 USC 846 and 21 USC 863) and Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering (18 USC 1956).  In a motion filed on October 5, 2015, it was revealed federal prosecutors had offered Panos a deal where he would plead guilty to some lesser charge in exchange for the government dropping the case against his wife Katie.  Although Panos initially accepted the deal, he has since changed his mind and the beleaguered Keene business owners will be going to trial on January 20, 2016 at the federal courthouse in Concord.

Contrary to what was implied in the media, Phat Stuff and its owners were not criminally charged with selling synthetic cannabinoids or any other controlled substance.  In the companion civil asset forfeiture case for Phat Stuff,  USA v. $695.00 US Currency et al, the complaint alleges that on August 9, 2013 an undercover informant for the DEA purchased the synthetic cannabinoid known as PB-22 from the Keene store.  The sale of PB-22 was not made illegal by the DEA until February 10, 2014 when the agency placed the compound on Schedule I by administrative order.  Phat Stuff stopped selling PB-22 prior to September 27, 2013 to comply with a Keene city ordinance forbidding its sale.  Since the constitution specifically forbids ex post facto laws, Phat Stuff and its owners could not be prosecuted for the sale and distribution of a controlled substance.  That left the government with the charges of selling drug paraphernalia, conspiracy, and money laundering.
