Council Committees to Consider Expanding or Reducing Prohibition Wed Night

Pot LeafThis Wednesday night at Keene city hall, 2nd floor, it will be a drug war showdown! The advocates for a brand new prohibition will be present to support the proposed illegal ordinance against all synthetic drugs.  The ordinance has been written, and it is horrible (it starts on pg 61 of this PDF).

MSFI committee @ 6pm will be hearing the proposed prohibition on all synthetic drugs – please come speak against this awful idea.

PLD committee @ 7pm will be hearing David Crawford’s proposal to have the council write a letter to the legislature encouraging legalization.  They will also hear my proposal to repeal the paraphernalia ordinance.

You can speak on all of these issues – please come out and support ending the insane war on drugs!  Here is a facebook event for the meetings.

Shire Free Church Ministers Put “City” on Notice

CoexistDarryl and I delivered the following notice today to the people calling themselves the “City of Keene”. The notice is to inform the city people that 73 and 75 Leverett St. are ministers’ parsonages and that we will no longer participate in their system of coercive taxes. However, we may elect to give them a voluntary contribution to support the city programs (like road repair) that we support:

Notice From the Ministers of the Shire Free Church: Keene

2013-09-02

To our neighbors calling themselves the “City of Keene”:

Greetings!

You are now on notice that as of June 27th, 2013 the property commonly known as 73 and 75 Leverett Street has become ministers’ parsonages for the Shire Free Church.

One of the central tenets of our interfaith ministry is peace. Historically, people calling themselves “The City” or “The State” have engaged in systematic threatening of peaceful people. You have jargon for this, like “taxes,” “statutes,” and “ordinances.” (more…)

Rich Paul Files for Keene Mayoral Race

2013_04_20_freerichRich Paul is running for mayor – from inside the Cheshire jail. I took his declaration of candidacy down to the city clerk’s office today and filed the $5 fee to get him on the ballot. Thus far the Keene mayoral race only has incumbent Kendall Lane (an attorney) and now Rich Paul, a former flower salesman. Only two weeks remain until the filing deadline – will anyone else enter the race?

Also, when was the last time you wrote or visited Rich? Don’t live near Keene? Did you know you can visit him from your webcam?

Have you sent him mail? Did you know you can do that free via Mail-to-Jail?

Robin Hood’s Court Challenge

beseeingyou_pjkeeneThe long awaited day will be soon upon us, as Prince John Maclean and his court Jester Tom Mullins take Robin Hood of Keene to court. While the legal wranglers conspired deviously behind the scenes, the Merry women and men prepared for the showdown on the court itself. This morning, the following video was released to AKPF confirming that the resistance is ready to taste victory in the face of the royalty’s bold challenge.
