Locals Form FK Opposition Facebook Group, Plan Protest

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
-Mahatma Gandhi

After finally showing up at this week’s city council meeting to protest liberty activists, locals who oppose FK’s “methods” have formed a facebook group and planned a protest for Monday August 23rd at 5pm at Central Square.

Exactly what methods they oppose are not made clear. FK supports all peaceful methods of achieving a voluntary society including civil disobedience and noncooperation, media creation, outreach, and political action. Do they oppose all of these? Discussions are occurring on their facebook group and also the Free Keene Forum.

I’d like to thank opposition group founder Annie Callaway for encouraging her participants to join the Free Keene Forum. More conversation between us is a good thing. The FK Forum is a tolerant place where we only prohibit violence and racism. We shall see if their facebook group is as tolerant as our forum. The last facebook group that was formed to oppose FK kicked out anyone they could identify as being associated with Free Keene. However, that group was formed by someone else, not Annie. I welcome the discussion.

Lew Rockwell Visits and Endorses Keene and the FSP!

Lew Rockwell on Free Talk LiveLew Rockwell, the founder of the Mises Institute and the most popular liberty-oriented website in the world, LewRockwell.com, has endorsed Keene’s activism! In an hour-long interview on Keene’s syndicated talk radio show, Free Talk Live, Lew called Keene “The northern capital of libertarianism” and suggested it was the “epicenter” of NH liberty activism. Lew identified himself as an “enthusiastic supporter” of the Free State Project, saying, “I definitely endorse the Free State Project”. About Keene, he said “[i] especially like what you guys are doing in Keene”, adding that activists “do amazing things here”.

Thank you Lew for your visit to Keene, the great interview, and the excellent endorsements. I’m adding them to the top of our Endorsements section of the 130 Reasons to Move to Keene!

Free Keene Donates Ideas… How About Some Blood?

We who blog here at Free Keene do so not for money…  we do so to offer our ideas and opinions about how a society can exist without the need for initiating violence against the peaceful.  Many of you who read here may vastly disagree with what we advocate, but I don’t think you could claim that we are not advocating what we truly believe is the “right” thing to do.

We believe in helping people…  mostly, by helping people to understand how a society can exist without the initiation of force.   Helping people is not always limited to ideas, writing, activism, and politics though.
