In Case of Thuggery, Call Porcupine 411

As one of the behind the scenes people around here, you aren’t terribly likely to see me at an event such as Monday’s deplorable mass arrests of liberty activists and members of the press in Keene. Instead, I do things like upgrade the software that runs Free Keene, and participate in other things which make activists on the front lines more effective at getting their message out. One of these things in particular deserves some attention in the wake of what happened on Monday, and that’s Porcupine 411.

Keeniacs Launch RV Tour Across North America to Promote Liberty!

Join Jason and Pete, former crashers-in-chief at Bureaucrash, for the Motorhome Diaries! Starting from their new home in Keene this weekend they will be traveling across North America and interacting with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and viewpoints at college campuses, homes, businesses and organizations that are united by one thing: increasing individual freedom and responsibility and decreasing the scope of government.

They’ll also be promoting the idea that liberty activists should move to NH as part of the Free State Project, and specifically Keene!

Good luck, guys and thanks for everything you do! Be sure to follow their progress on MotorhomeDiaries.com!

111+ Reasons to Move to Keene! (Fully Updated 2009 Edition)

Just over a year ago, the 108+ Reasons to Move to Keene was released and people were paying attention as the population of activists in Keene has more than tripled since that time! Now as more liberty activists continue to move to Keene it seemed to be a good time to completely update and rework the list to focus more on the greatest attraction to the Keene area: the pro-liberty activism!

See the new list at Move.FreeKeene.com and discuss here on the Free Keene Forum.

Celebration and Action!

This has been a great week, and it’s only going to get better. First this week, Pete Eyre and Jay Talley of Motorhome Diaries showed up in Keene to begin their new project of the same name, and were welcomed by over 25 liberty activists at Social Sunday at Vendettas. Our once meager and less populous gatherings are becoming a thing of the past, as more and more activists make their way to the liberty activist hot spot, Keene, New Hampshire. That said, these two newly arrived activists are a juggernaut to be reckoned with in their badass Motorhome and powerful message of Liberty. No greenhorns to the movement, their experience can only serve to attract more and more of the talent and dedication we need to push back against the every encroaching tyranny of the State.

Now that said, I’d like to address some recent city politics and what I feel will be the appropriate response. (more…)

No More National Callers to Talkback, Please!

I just got off the phone with Dan Mitchell, program director for 1290 WKBK here in Keene. Apparently the tremendous caller turnout we had on Saturday has upset some people and Dan got some complaints from listeners. (Of course, people are more likely to complain about programming instead of compliment.)

That said, he does have a point and that is that it’s not really appropriate for callers outside the Monadnock region of NH to be participating in a locally oriented show. Dan asked me to stop streaming the show and I managed to talk him into letting me continue to stream it so long as the outside-the-area calls stop. He says he does not wish to implement call screening and that they do have caller-ID in the studio to help them identify potential outside the area callers.

So, I can’t tell you what to do or prevent you from participating if you’re outside the area, but I can tell you that if you want to continue to listen to the live stream, then you should just allow local activists to call. If you’d like to call in, then you’ll need to move to the area, and this includes those listeners who are planning to move – it has been requested that you only call once you are here. Thanks for listening and participating in our weekly Talkback calls, and if you aren’t in the Keene area yet, come on up!
