A satirical post published to Robin Hood of Keene’s facebook page yesterday had apparently gulled a few advocates of the STOP FREE KEENE!!! facebook group into believing that some participants’ previous efforts to prompt intellectual property lawsuits by the Disney Corporation had been a success. The evidence presented was a redacted Cease and Desist letter on which Michael Eisner, Thomas Mullins, and Mickey Mouse were CC’d. The letter purported to be from the Chester, Nelson, and Albuquerque law firm in Orlando, Florida, on behalf of The Walter Disney Corporation. It was dated from exactly one year prior, and identifies, “attorneys representative of the STOP FREE KEENE!!! LLC” as being the original source of the complaints. Accompanying the letter, a short message from Robin Hood implied that the new profile image for the page had been altered to include Doge as part of a deal with Walter’s attorneys.
One April Fools’ post appeared at STOP FREE KEENE!!! and collected five facebook-likes before vanishing altogether between seven and eight in the evening, approximately forty minutes after publication.
Another false-positive on the corporate lawsuit joke appeared in the group earlier today, and remained visible after being revealed as a comedic parody. The second post has also since disappeared from the group’s page. (more…)
Published to the Robin Hood of Keene facebook page today was a statement explaining that a separate legal matter previously lodged against the Merry People had been resolved outside of court. While details are scarce, at least one redacted documented relative that that issue was also linked.
The Merry People truly made a media splash in the aftermath of a failed lawsuit filed against us by ‘the City of Keene’. However, a much more powerful adversary had also lodged legal claims against Robin Hood last year, and until now, we have chosen not to make public those civil charges. Fortunately, our representatives and theirs were able to work out a deal, and all is settled. To uphold our end of the bargain, we have modified our profile image on this page and will be publishing only a redacted copy the original ‘cease and desist’ letter.
Separately announced was the good news that Robin Hood and the Merry People now accept Dogecoin at the following address: D7KxRTdybVReZoz1MfRLTYdMecdhJ7MoS1
On the most recently released episode of the the after-hours local access program Black Sheep Rising, changes to the schedules of parking fees and fines for the city of Keene were addressed in the first hour. Extracted for the AKPF audience and published to the Aqua Keene channel, in this under five minute segment, viewers learn of proposed changes to boost short term rates by fifty percent. The figures were inaccurately represented in the initial broadcast as not having been divisible except via quarter dollars, but this specially edited excerpt corrects the mathematical errors. To see the full episode, check out the uncensored installment at BlackSheepRising.com.

Shortly after the conclusion of the three day Robin Hood of Keene evidentiary hearing, which led to the dismissal of civil lawsuits against the Merry People, nearly complete video records of the hearings were posted online to Fr33manTVraw and the FreeKeene youtube channel. Unfortunately, due to a technical malfunction midway through day two of proceedings, approximately sixteen minutes of direct examination of a witness was excluded from publication.
To restore the public record, the Merry People have obtained an audio record of the entire hearing from the court. The corrupted file was re-edited with audio from the missing segment affixed in the proper location and inserted into the raw video playlist. Enjoy the now complete record of the Robin Hood of Keene civil trial, which was performed on August 12, September 30, and October 01 of 2013, and currently awaits appeal to the NH supreme court.
The 2013 New Hampshire Liberty Forum was host to a special presentation which has not, until now, been publicly broadcast. New York City street artist Essam was facing 56 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, grand larceny possession of stolen property, and weapons possession. Last November, all felony charges previously filed by the state’s attorney were dropped, and some were reduced to misdemeanors. Word broke March 6 that all remaining charges against the dissident artist were dropped regarding State v Essam Attia.
In this presentation, the audience hears directly from the source how a guerrilla art project was planned and executed throughout New York, the motivations behind the pieces, and the potential penalties for the subversive signage. Release of video from the talk has been delayed pending resolution of the criminal case, as there is incriminating information provided which defense attorneys understandably would oppose providing directly to the prosecution. One motivation for the state’s decision to cease prosecution of the case may have been to avoid the constitutional questions raised as to when street art intersects with protected speech. An article from AnimalNewYork.com chronicles the most recent update and has been following the story from its breaking.
