Yesterday, a much more pleasant aroma than usual lingered through the smoking parlor of the New Hampshire state house. While legislators coughed on tobacco fumes, Irvin Rosenfeld puffed his medicine under the lights of WMUR news cameras. As one of the few surviving participants in a federal medicinal cannabis study, Irvin is given 9 ounces of cannabis in pre-rolled joints per month. The cannabis is grown at the University of Mississippi under the control of the federal government. Along with the cannabis, Irvin also possesses immunity from any US drug laws which would otherwise criminalize him.
Since childhood, Irvin has been struck with Multiple Congenital Cartilaginous Exostoses, a bone disorder that causes tumors to form in his joints. Without using any other medicines, Irvin has not had tumor growth since he began using cannabis, which he has been doing regularly for 30 years.
The purpose of Irvin’s visit to the state was to clear up misconceptions about medicinal cannabis and to meet with legislators who are still on the fence. At the end of the attached video, you can see interactions with Rep. Al Baldasaro and Sen. Gary Lambert, both former opponents of medicinal cannabis legislation. Biker Bill has coverage of the press conference prior to the discussion in the smoking lounge, and WMUR did a piece on the visit that aired last night as well.
Here is the sworn statement I’ve submitted to the New Hampshire Senate Judiciary Committee about what I believe is blatant abuse of Part II, Article 73-a by select judges in the New Hampshire Judicial Branch.
To those of you reading this in law enforcement: The complaint for False Reports to Law Enforcement only has to allege knowingly, but you could even prove purposefully. The Judge stopped, turned around, and stated unequivocally “that’s a criminal offense.” He made darn sure the bailiffs arrested Ademo.
Could he have felt threatened? Sure. Was it a criminal offense? Absolutely not.
It’s a surprise to learn that Medea Benjamin was allowed into a press conference marking the anniversary of Osama Bin Laden’s mysterious execution. ‘Counterterrorism Advisor’ John Brennan spoke about US military operations overseas, including the use of drones to kill suspected combatants, at the April 30 event at the Woodrow Wilson International Center in DC. Medea (whom you may remember from the Jefferson Dance Party) stood and interrupted the official’s speech and spoke out on behalf of innocent victims of increasingly advanced US militarism. The venue was reasonable enough to not ask that she be arrested after police dragged her from the room. Linked you can read Medea’s account of the event, and see the courageous interruption below:

While visiting the 21st annual Extravaganja festival in Amherst, Massachusetts, I had the chance to meet a long-time advocate for a peace declaration in the war on drugs. Jack Cole is one of the founding members of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition who worked in undercover narcotics for a great portion of his police career. Though he had known for years while working in the field that he was actively harming communities by perpetuating an unnecessary war, it was some time before he decided to make speaking out against the war a major part of his life. Since doing so, he has found it difficult to, in good conscience, not continue to work hard to maintain the momentum LEAP has been building in opposition to prohibition policy.
In this interview, Jack overviews the surprising success LEAP has had since its formation in March 2002. Now spanning 86 countries, LEAP is beginning to have even more active duty criminal justice officials, as early on their public membership was almost exclusively retired individuals. Jack also gets into how the drug war is greatly decreasing the effectiveness of more imperative criminal justice functions because of the ease of fishing in the drug war.

During my involvement with representing Jason Talley, I was fortunate to have been anonymously contacted by several people whom were well versed in the law. These people were invaluable to helping me help Jason escape imprisonment on what he believed to be corrupt court orders.
I recently heard from a law enforcement officer about an awesome judge in Carroll County who calls the jail on the weekends on her own accord simply because she wants to make sure defendants do not get held just because the court is closed. She legally doesn’t have to do that. I think she probably does it because she is a good person who uses her authority to protect individual liberty. I’ve never met this judge, but she sounds awesome.
