1. It is refreshing when the state focuses on going after those who actually hurt others. A woman attacked with a dumbbell. An accused rapist. Another accused rapist. A man who breaks a woman’s nose in a domestic dispute. A man who shakes a helpless 11-month old child. This behavior, if proven to have actually have committed, is unacceptable and should be met with justice.
Is it really hard to understand that people within the freedom/liberty movement simply want consensual acts between people as well as acts which harm no other individual to be unfettered? It is amazing that simply wanting to allow other people to live their lives in the way they see fit is a goal that needs to be striven for.
In the “land of the free” shouldn’t this already be the state of affairs?

Time for some news from around New Hampshire viewed through the perspective of a person who used to be authorized to use violence to enforce morality.
I welcome your opinions about mine:
1. Lawmakers are contemplating a change to the “Right-to-know” law which would allow greater governmental accountability for the people. The people, you know, who have to consent to the government in order for it to even exist.
“But those who worry about the continued efforts of public officials to restrict public access see this as one more attempt to inhibit the spirit of the law.”
Public servants. People who work for and answer to you. They’ll be the judge of what you should know. Just trust them.

And you’d better believe it is a threat:

I don’t want to pay $892.96 to fund the police attacking people for doing things that haven’t hurt anyone.
I don’t want to pay $1561.55 to fund the local school system that will dumb down kids and teach them that it is okay to use violence to solve problems.
I don’t want to pay $353.24 to fund other school systems to dumb down kids and teach them that it is okay to use violence to solve problems.
I don’t want to pay $400.25 to fund keeping humans in cages for doing things that haven’t harmed anyone else.
……… but I will. I will because I don’t want violence to be used against me. I am a believer in karma so I’d say that I’d deserve it.
I used violence all the time to enforce the will of the majority. If someone didn’t do what I said I’d either slam them on the pavement, put 50,000 volts of electricity through their body, hit them with a baton, or spray them with painful pepper spray. I hurt a lot of people who never hurt anyone else. I regret it. I am sorry.
If I don’t pay the government will sell my home. If I don’t leave when they sell it they will use violence to get me out. If I defend myself… I’ll be killed.
I understand how someone can think that this is acceptable behavior for a supposed “civilized” society. It is not.

Some recent news from New Hampshire and beyond …
- In Bangkok, Thailand the police chief makes misbehaving officers wear “Hello Kitty” armbands while on-duty. For people who pride themselves on being quite macho I am sure this is quite hard to take. The C.R.A.P. campaign comes to mind.

Good afternoon.
Time for some mostly New Hampshire-esque news with some random thoughts of a former statist.
- The City of Rochester is about to attack 1,716 of the people who live within it’s boundaries for failing to “register” their dogs. Attack really is an appropriate word to use to describe this.
- Take a naked picture of a seventeen year old who has lived an additional 364 days from their birthday: go to jail. Wait a day, no jail. When a 80 year old can lawfully have sexual intercourse with a sixteen year old…. how does it become an immoral act when a consensual picture/video is taken of it? A seventeen year old could be prosecuted and tossed in prison for taking a naked picture of themselves.

A man who was doing nothing more than carrying a switchblade knife has been arrested for being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon. This comes right after the wonderful Rep. Jennifer Coffey (a FSP participant) was victorious in seeing that mere possession of a switchblade knife by anyone not branded a felon is now legal in New Hampshire. Of course, if you’re a felon, you are a second class citizen essentially for life. You can achieve said second class citizen-ness for simply holding (and never using) a chemical substance in your hand… a trivial act which harms no one.
New Hampshire has one of the strictest (and arguably one of the most confusing) laws regarding felons being in possession of a deadly weapon. Under the law a felon could lawfully possess a crossbow while at the same time be tossed in prison for seven years for cutting steak with a dull steak knife. I shall explain:
