Rich Paul Update Published by Sentinel

richpaul_pfestKyle Jarvis has penned an article that was published in yesterday’s Sentinel updating Rich Paul’s legal predicament. Rich remains detained at the Cheshire county house of corrections for the duration of his sentence, despite a recent appeal filed by his former attorney. Kim Kossick is no longer representing Rich legally, as the article states appeals are handled by other attorneys in public defense. Word on the street is that Rich may have additional attorneys working on the case soon. See a scan of the article here, as well as the version hosted at sentinelsource.com. (more…)

Marijuana Jury Nullification Tour

The Tour is on! The Marijuana Jury Nullification Tour that is, being made a reality by the NJ Weedman Ed Forchion, and videographers Beau Davis and Rob Davis, who will be filming this powerful and much needed juror education across the nation.  The people have lined up to make it happen and now the money needs to. Together they are raising the funds needed for the Weedmobile to hit the road from California to New Jersey, and to do this they are set up on the site http://www.youcaring.com/mission-trip-fundraiser/marijuana-jury-nullification-tour/73665. It looks like $140 is raised so far out of a goal of $2200, and there are 9 more days to make goal! NJ Weedman has already cancelled this tour once due to lack of funds, so it would be so sad if this gets cancelled again. I am giving my version of the widow’s mite, $4.20 to help, and just imagine if 500 people give $4.20 in the next 9 days, the Tour is on! When they visit jury selections and marijuana trials, imagine how many times 1 out of every 12 jurors might have an educated epiphany, or even 12 out of 12 jurors unanimously acquitting peaceful plant-loving people! So please consider giving any amount to help toward goal, or at least spread the word, and thank you to Beau and Rob for taking on this awesome activism adventure! Many are familiar with Beau’s film, Derrick J’s Victimless Crime Spree, a well-done masterpiece documentary worth the watch if you haven’t already.

Thank you to Gary Reed for this great article he wrote for the examiner.com to promote this Tour. Also check out njweedman.com for more info, and the NJ Weedman’s Promo Video for the Jury Nullification Tour.

Camera Robbery: Aug 6 Information Release Date

the-secret-policeYesterday while Robin Hooding in Keene, I stopped into the district court while another person held a camera. Asking the receptionist about when information will be released relative to my case, I was told that the original ‘return date’ of unsealing was scheduled for July 26. For some reason, the unsealing was delayed until August 6. Are the authorities buying themselves more time to avoid the inevitable accountability check? It is also unclear whether the information release will be accompanied by the release of my Canon Vixia camera. Video from the day continues to upload to a playlist at Fr33manTVraw (see the court update from yesterday embedded below). For more info from this incident, check out Pete Eyre’s original post NH Bureaucrats Conspire to Censor Garret Ean at CopBlock, as well as the ninth episode of AKPF #1, which was largely dedicated to this topic.

Gov. Hassan Signs “Therapeutic Cannabis”

New Hampshire’s Governor signed a “therapeutic cannabis” law today. Which is better than if she had vetoed the bill. However, the legislation needs to be VASTLY improved!

For starters, patients can’t grow their own cannabis, there will only be 4 dispensaries in the entire State, and patients will be forced to pay a yearly fee to have a “therapeutic cannabis” ID card, not to mention that such dispensaries will not be open for quite some time.

Some people are making a big deal over the fact that PTSD was specifically removed, however better terminology (“traumatic brain injury, or one or more injuries that significantly interferes with daily activities as documented by the patient’s provider”) was added.

The legislation does not allow for anyone in NH who is not a “resident” to be treated as a “Visiting qualifying patient” (The law defines a “Visiting qualifying patient” as a patient with a qualifying medical condition who is not a resident of New Hampshire or who has been a resident of New Hampshire for fewer than 30 days and is not eligible to purchase therapeutic cannabis in New Hampshire or receive cannabis from a qualifying New Hampshire patient.)

One can only hope that this bill is improved in the next session!

NH Gov Hassan Signs Medical Cannabis Legislation

Pot Leaf

Maggie Hassan, despite signing medical cannabis legislation today making New Hampshire the 19th state to legalize cannabis for certain medicinal use, cannot claim to be a friend of the sick.  Hassan would only sign the legislation if they removed home growing as an option, pulled PTSD off the list of approved uses, and gutted the affirmative defense provisions.  All of those things make life more difficult on medical patients who just need their medicine.

Despite the bill not being optimal, it’s still a step in the direction of more personal freedom and choice.  It took much effort on the part of liberty-oriented state reps as well as volunteers at groups like MPP.org and the NH Coalition for Common Sense, founded by Free State Project participant Matt Simon.  Kudos to everyone who worked to make this happen.  The next step will hopefully be more legislation that eases up the ridiculous restrictions that Hassan put in this legislation, so patients can access legal cannabis sooner.  This current statute forces them to wait until the state’s dispensaries are ready to distribute, which could be years.

Hopefully Hassan will only be in one term and we can get someone with compassion for other humans in her place like liberty rep George Lambert, who is gearing up to run for governor in 2014.

AKPF Guests Black Sheep Rising

2013_07_22_akpfThere are rumblings of a conspiracy theory afoot in Keene — following the official declaration of conspiracy by the city’s hired legal counsel, now the lucrative criminal masterminding has affected the broadcast schedule of AKPF #1. Keene’s favorite local variety series will not air this week, as it has been replaced by a highlights reel of AKPF #1 series producers Garret and James’ appearance on Black Sheep Rising, another locally produced entertainment series. Black Sheep Rising is unique in that it is not subject to broadcast “decency standards”, as it normally airs in the after-hours programming slot on Cheshire TV. The regularly risque media has been sanitized for daytime viewing standards in this family-friendly rendition of BSR to be aired in this week’s AKPF #1 time slot. Discover all sorts of unconventional wisdom and news happenings from the Robin Hooding crew in the BSR episode 07 redux. Tune in to AKPF #1 next week to see the global conspiracy episode, in which Prince John and Jester Mullins lay out their visionary concerns.
